Supporting is a cornerstone of our community involvement initiatives. Our colleagues share in that passion and volunteer time with teams and other initiatives across Canada.

It's and we’re shining a light on our colleague Kevin, who has been supporting the Merge Robotics team in since 2015 as a mentor and coach. This year, the team won an Impact Award – given to teams who are setting good examples within the FIRST Robotics Canada community – and this is no doubt a reflection of Kevin’s grounded and inspirational leadership.

Thanks for all you do, Kevin, to encourage our future leaders!

Happy Pi Day! Several years ago we were competing at a FIRST Robotics Canada event on this day. We were serving up pizza pie for dinner (of course). We thought we would make things fun by announcing that the person who could correctly recite the most digits of Pi could eat first.

I know Pi to 38 digits. This contest was unannounced and impromptu. I thought, surely, none of our students would just HAPPEN to know more digits than me?

I was very wrong!

We really appreciate the support from General Dynamics Mission Systems - Canada! We can’t wait to show our completed robot - soon!

The Merge Robotics team has been busy turning their computer-aided design into a full-fledged robot for the FIRST Robotics Canada Charged Up! competition. Along with establishing the robot's essential components and software. We can't wait to see what the next few weeks hold!

The FRC Team 2706: Merge Robotics team is hard at work in preparation for the 2023 FIRST Robotics Canada “Charged Up!” competition. Students have begun collaborating and prototyping their robot's functionality. We're proud to support this team of future leaders and can't wait to see what they accomplish!

This weekend was PDR (Preliminary Design Review) day! After the game kickoff we made a functional specification, and after a lot of prototyping, this weekend we made some decisions and began the Detailed Design phase. Then a potluck lunch from our amazing parents!

The next step in our robot build: prototyping! Now that we know WHAT we want to do (pick up cones and cubes and score then at all platform levels), the students are trying to come up with HOW that’ll get done. This involves a lot of ideas, sketches, mock-ups, and experimentation!

We are feeling CHARGED UP to build a robot to play in this year’s FIRST Robotics Competition!

We had a great start to the 2023 FRC season with a kickoff event held at University of Ottawa! We then spent the weekend analyzing the game rules, coming up with strategies, and developing a preliminary functional specification (aka the wish list). Thanks uO FIRST Alumni Group for organizing the kickoff weekend!
