When I began Oceanside Pride just over four years ago it was because there wasn't anything like it in this region. I had big dreams for what I might accomplish with it: starting a non-profit, creating a space for people to get together, an avenue for mutual aid, and - always - a page focused on education and advocacy for the q***r community in the Oceanside region of Vancouver Island.
I always thought Oceanside Pride would grow organically. However, this has remained a mostly (but not exclusively) solo project since the beginning. My goals for this space are things I can't accomplish alone. I'm at a crossroad. I would love to work together with like-minded folks to develop Oceanside Pride into the space I know it can be. Without help though, I don't know that I'll be able to continue. I've hit my limit as an individual.
I'm open to any ideas, advice, or offers of assistance. I don't want to let this page go, but without help I can't see a way forward.
Regardless of how things turn out I want to thank everyone who has been a part of this community over the past four years. We have so many amazing people here and none of this would have been possible without you.
Much love and appreciation.
