I spent the morning down at our river bed campsites. DYK that we have 9 (NINE) sites, walk-in access right on the riverbed? The sounds down there are magical. Last week we showed you some of the local wildlife. Young birds that popped out of little eggs and a big hawk that caught dinner for the family (one of our kajillions of rabbits). Today I saw this big woodpecker - let's call him Woody. He (or she) was hard to get a picture of but if you look up in this Arbutus tree you might see him (or her). Yesterday I posted a picture showing some new born birds at Riverbend RV & Cottage Resort - Parksville, Vancouver Island. today I have a picture of a much bigger bird. A hawk! He swooped down and sure enough he got dinner for the family. A young rabbit. That means we are now down to about 427 rabbits. Tomorrow a few dozen more no doubt.

Today was marked by three cottage arrivals and a hummingbird opted to come into the main lodge/office building. That pretty much stopped everything. Three of us trying to coax the little guy out. The good news....we succeeded! And speaking of little guys....check out the last picture - the one with the dying plant. Our team heard the rumble! And then this showed up. Nice eh! No doubt on their way to the Mopar show in Coombs this past weekend. With many more car shows on the horizon it's possible and probable that we'll see more, and hear more. What are you driving?
