Yes, fall has arrived - but, we just checked the forecast, and it's still patio season! Did you get to enjoy the rooftop patio and terrace at Y Lofts this summer? If not, the weather looks pretty good this week so get out there this fall.

Not only was the Peterborough YMCA renovated into the Y Lofts, this side shows the significant addition that was put on the original building. We're pretty proud of it, and there are still a few suites available to rent.

The word of the day is: "munificence," which means the quality or action of being lavishly generous; great generosity.

The Y Lofts started as the Peterborough YMCA which opened in 1896 in memory of Charlotte Jane Nicholls, through whose munificence the building was erected.

This is just one of the great spaces offered by Y Lofts: an outdoor garden walkway visible from many suites and hallways. Some suites even have an adjoining terrace!

Peterborough is a city with a great history and you can see examples almost everywhere you go. The famous "Peterborough Lift Lock," also known as Lock 21 on the Trent-Severn waterway, was originally constructed in 1904 and is less than 10 minutes from Y Lofts, originally constructed as the Peterborough YMCA in 1896.

Throwback Thursday! This is a photo from the conversion of the Peterborough YMCA building into the Y Lofts. The YMCA is steeped in over 100 years of history; the conversion from recreation center to the residential loft apartments is now a part of that history, and it's one that you can live in!
