I’m honoured to be taking over as chair of the Council of the Federation, a forum for Canada’s 13 premiers to work together as we tackle our country’s most pressing challenges. Thank you to my friend Premier Tim Houston for your leadership over the past year.

As chair, my priorities are clear: helping to navigate U.S.-Canada relations, getting life-saving medications to people faster, building out clean Canadian energy, streamlining approvals for critical mineral mining projects and fixing Canada’s broken bail system to keep criminals off the streets.

When Canada’s premiers work together, there’s nothing we can’t do. Let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work!

Today, Premier FordNation alongside Peter Bethlenfalvy Minister of Finance, and Kinga Surma Minister of Infrastructure, announced that our government is investing more than $1.8 billion in new housing-enabling infrastructure funding, in addition to the billions of dollars we are already providing.

🍁 We're charting the way forward for 's energy future with significant moves to ensure our province is powered to meet the demands of tomorrow. Today, we're excited to share that we're backing the refurbishment of the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station's B Units! ⚡️

This strategic decision means over 2,000 MW of clean electricity will invigorate our growing province, bolstering our GDP by $19.4B over the project's lifespan, and generating approximately 11,000 jobs. 🏗️💼

While others have talked about shutting down, we're building up. We stand with nuclear energy and the hardworking people who keep our province energized every day. 🇨🇦✨
