Couple quick ones to finish off the night.

Doodling a lot more lately.

With a toddler human and a teenage (king) sheperd roaming around my space, paint proved to be too dangerous to have laying around, in any format.

I've also been having quite a creative block as my mental health has taken a bit of a kickin. Doodling and writing have always been coping mechanisms for me going way back to childhood. I was reminded of this as I was cleaning the basement and came across an entire tote of chilhood memories; mostly art, journals/diaries, and report cards/certificates.

I loved being creative, but also loved, and was good at math. At school we had been taught the "left brain (logical, fact seeking, good at math, etc) vs right brain (emotional, creative, artisitc)" theory. This was taught to me over and over again and every single time, I couldn't (and still can't) identify myself as one over the other. Instead of trying to choose between an "analytical life" or a "creative life" I chose to amalgamate the two and f*ck it feels good!

Sum it up: mental health can be hard, find a healthy coping mechanism by trying new things, don't get stuck on trying to fit into textbooks, embrace all sides of you; colliding the "two" could make for some pretty beautiful results.

Alright, it's happening again. Here we go!

It's amazing, the process of creation. One hour and it's something completely different than it was yesterday, each step it's own masterpiece.

It's just lines, shapes and dots.

When I'm struggling to figure out my next move, I just remind myself of this, put a line, shape or dot somewhere and off we go.

'Holy F**k'

I will always encourage people to hang art the way THEY want to see it. Add another hook and now you've got options!

So...we've been trying to go on a holiday to see my Family in Montreal since early July. We've now rebooked 6 times, and have yet to arrive.

We were so close. My mother, my son and I were ON the plane, ready to go....deboared and rescheduled for the next day due to maintenance issues. So home we went.

Yes Universe, I'm listening.

The next morning I was greeted with these BLOOMS! I immediately found the silver lining, as I knew so many would bloom while I was away.

Well thank the universe, our Family in Montreal tested positive for the COVID two hours before boarding, we were back to rescheduling.

I don't like air travel. Traveling in general gives me great anxiety and air travel is the worst. Over the last three weeks I've had multiple anxiety attacks as the build up for this trip continued. Prepping to be away from work for a week+ is exhausting....I've done it three times now....

I'm tired, so not much paint creation happening but I'm taking the time to enjoy my outdoor space and the beauty it brings to our everyday lives.

I told myself not to buy plants before my holidays....BUT THEN the other night I opened insta and was met by Rooted Living Designs live plant sale.....so between that and the gift card I had...I now have 5 bucket list plants and a nice bonus.

No words of wisdom for this one. It's just so mesmerizing, I got nothin else.

She's so beautiful, I just let her grow 🪴
