The heat has been a major factor in our this week. We have adjusted mildly to an 8 a.m. - 11 p.m. start using watercolour or sketching tools in the morning in nice shaded parts of . Second sessions of the day began at 5 - 8 p.m., rather than 2 - 5. It helped immensely.

Cypress Hills is lovely as ever, but I haven't been very diligent with taking photos. Last night, at 9:45 pm, once my day was finally done, I took some photos and was kind of intrigued with the lighting at this time of day. This might be the start of a new series of paintings?

8th Paint Cypress Hills En Plein Air

In preparation for Art Now 2024 in Saskatoon, I have been focusing on developing new copper landscapes that incorporate goldsmithing techniques. One piece will exhibit patterns derived from nature on a full copper bead, with a dual-sided interior inspired by two poems by Harvey Linnen. Alongside this, I am crafting a large-scale copper mosaic mounted on a round cradle board of a Tiger Lily, with a Saskatchewan landscape painted on the surface, also influenced by Linnen's poetry. Updates on the creative process will be shared in the near future.

Astronomy tours!

From May long to Sept long, the Eastend Astronomy Club will be offering tours every other evening which will be: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, n Saturdays starting at dusk. (Also Sundays on long weekends). Weather permitting.
