You hear stories about people paying off their mortgages and you wonder, how did they do that? It is in reach for most homeowners, if you follow one (or all) of these mortgage paydown tips:

1). Change to biweekly accelerated payments instead of monthly. This will help you pay off an extra month's worth of payments each year.
2). Round up your payments. Every little bit counts, and this can add up over time.
3). Some lenders will allow you to make extra payments when you can or a lump sum/year
4). If interest rates drop, refinance to a lower interest rate. This can save you a significant amount of money in the long run.
5). Even if your amortization is currently at 25 years, you can make a long-term goal to pay off mortgage in 15 years instead with these tips!

Although paying down your mortgage is an important goal, if you have higher-interest debt, pay it off first. Too often, people focus on paying down their mortgage and not saving for their future.

I’m so grateful to have started my own mortgage business! It’s already taught me so much, including how to push myself out of my comfort zone and try new things, including sharing 5 fun facts about myself with you.

1️⃣I learned how to downhill mountain bike last year, and haven’t had to many wipeouts yet!
2️⃣I have been married to my highschool sweetheart for 22 years.
3️⃣I have two teenage children, which have also been my motivation to try new things.
4️⃣I have a Bernese Moutain dog who I would consider my third child.
5️⃣I was interested in becoming a broker when we were building our own homes and going through the process. The mortgage side sparked my interest and hoped one day I would be able to do my own mortgage.

I am excited to see where this venture takes me!
