Making Easy Hard
A lifetime of making EASY - HARD!
In January of 2018 Nadine completed The DavisĀ® Dyslexia Correction program (www.dyslexia.com) which changed her life forever. Nadine had grown up suffering with undiagnosed ADHD and Dyslexia (diagnosis was not easy to come by in the 1970s). Nadine grew up as a busy multi-tasker who struggled to āsit still and pay attentionā. As a young child and through most of her adulthood, Nadineās ānormalā was a challenge compared to others. Like many others she grew up in a school system that was not set up for students with different learning styles and different needs. As a student who learned and explored differently than her peers, Nadine was left feeling like an outsider.
In 2017 Nadine was accepted to Kingās University College in London, Ontario for Thanatology (Loss, grief, and bereavement studies). She once again found herself struggling with her studies. Nadine was 47 years old at the time and now understood that she had Dyslexia and ADHD, but understanding her stumbling blocks and overcoming them were two very different things. Emotionally and academically struggling, Nadine turned to āThe Gift of Dyslexiaā by Ron Davis (audiobook) for inspiration and a different perspective.
Nadineās research at this time lead her to The DavisĀ® Dyslexia Correction program where she was guided through the 30-hour program by Tracy (her Davis facilitator). Since completing the program Nadineās confidence has grown every single day. She can read out loud in front of an audience (something she would not have attempted previously), as well as read and understand what she is reading. She can also handle the alphabet forwards and backwards. With the help of The DavisĀ® Dyslexia Correction program Nadine was able to learn new skills and knowledge, which allowed her to ātake responsibility for [her] learning disabilityā.
