Meds do help! But so does lifestyle - immensely so! There is so much that can be done now to prevent badness later. Keep it in mind. Consider it to be as important as the meds. Seminar 4 is all about this part of your health.

That’s right! From the clitoris extends a much larger network of tissue, nerves, and muscles. Knowing the layout and how the areas are stimulated can completely change how you receive and give pleasure. Sign up for the wait list to attend our Fall seminar series to learn more. The Clitoris IS an iceberg!

I opened a Menopause Clinic modeled after the care I wish I had access to when I started going through the transition. I started educating to help other patients and providers. Change starts here. It starts with all of us.

The “Thrive Through Menopause” retreat with Battwin Healing and Wellness was a beautiful day (in a beautiful space - thank you Riverwalk Commons) and I’m looking forward to many more. Retreats like these are a great way for us to offer this education in a single day, if you can’t make the 4-part series. DM to get on a wait list!

Sex Ed isn’t what your gym teacher taught you!!I nervously anticipated an awkward evening speaking to a sold out seminar about Sex in Midlife. What a wonderful night it was - the crowd was wonderful. We learned and we laughed. The community is growing! Thank you to Pelvic Physiotherapist, Jenn Masse of Stratford Physiotherapy Centre - Pt Health and “Sex Device Expert” Julie Bell from Sinvention Boutique.

This week in “Adventures in Menopause Advocacy” I had the pleasure of sitting on the Passion To Profit panel at the Fresh Idea Collective Summit for women in business. I had an opportunity to share that this Menopause work is about making it easier for those of us struggling to get access to guideline-based care; about educating women, couples, providers, policy makers and insurance providers about improving women’s health in general. It will take a community but based on how much support you’re all giving me, I’d say we got a quickly-growing one. Thanks to Kerry for inviting me and to all the people who got me on her radar. And all the people supporting all this advocacy and work 😃🙏🏽 🔴. You guys are the best. Also stay tuned - more adventures to come - I met a bunch of new very interesting people to collaborate with.

OHIP is wonderful but there are some noteworthy limitations that help explain the reason that NPs, at times, are being compensated directly by patients or their benefits/insurance plans. We love our work and collaborative care with physicians and we appreciate OHIP. We also see a struggling system and patients asking for our help.

Another incredible night at 2/4 Nights At the Museum Menopause Edition. We talked about lifestyle, non-hormonal and hormonal treatments for symptoms. We also had a great talk about the history of the supplement industry, how to navigate it. If you attended please comment on what you enjoyed about the evening. And thank you so much for being part of it.

It’s a myth that you must spend hours in the gym per session and go 5 times per week to gain results. That’s great for those that so choose but you can also achieve great things when you’re short on time.

🏋🏽💪🏽 My workout is really specific to my goals. For example: I’m working on pull-ups. There has never been a time in real life that I have needed to be able to do that so I build it into my routine. And there are lots of back exercises that are great for building strength and muscle that help support that goal. I also do a very specific type of squat because I bike a lot and get muscle strength discrepancies that cause pain if I don’t work on equalizing.

Somebody had to say it. Be it supplements, vitamins, hormones, other prescribed medications - take note that NONE of them cure ALL. Navigating this transition requires a multi-pronged approach, meaning that more than one intervention is required to support us through this phase. No one thing will fix it all. Supplements and medications are but one of many pillars. We talk about it in the clinic when we see you.

🎙️This week I had the distinct pleasure of being interviewed by award-winning reporter Colin Butler on CBC RADIO’s Afternoon Drive. When you have 7 minutes take a listen. We’re doing it! With your support we are spreading the word on local menopause education and care. 🙏🏽😃🎉

Kelly M, GM is as enthusiastic and excited about our seminar project as we are. We LOVE partnering with the fabulous team at The Stratford Perth Museum and know this collaboration is a magical pairing. Come see for yourself. The third Tuesday in March, April, May and June. https://stratfordperthmuseum.yapsody.com/event/index/802209/nights-at-the-museum-menopause-edition

I became a certified provider after recognizing that I didn’t know enough and wasn’t giving optimal care. And coming to our clinic means a thorough assessment and evidence-based care. If you’re suffering and want help, that’s what we are here for. https://www.judygardinernp.ca/

You’ve Spoken. We’ve Listened. More details dropping soon. Head back here at 6pm on Sunday and see how we are stepping with you into powerful knowledge #knowledgeispowerisbeauty

New year protein goals: High quality protein at 0.8 grams per pound of body weight for menopausal women is ideal. Including a whey protein isolate can help you get there. Hot Tip #1: high speed blending whey protein can cause digestive upset and/or gas. I add ice and shake it to avoid the upset AND keep it cold for the day.

Let's talk about skin changes & menopause! And yes, it's normal for changes to occur during the menopausal transition. Generally dryer skin is one of many changes you may notice. Your skincare routine may require an entire makeover - THAT'S COMMON. And it's not harmful to your health. We'll talk more about skin changes in the weeks to come. 📸 IG REPOST @mignonettetakepictures “slow down 🛁🧼🫧🧽”
