Had some fun doing a Lord of the Rings take off for a retirement gift. Plenty of ways we could have gone with characters etc, but fun to make dropping dreaded work life into Mt Doom forever - haha! Original handcoloured caricatures

It's the start of Spring Break 2024! It's been a while since I posted but here's an idea of some of the things I've been up to. I've been painting in acrylic again! This is a commission for a private client back east in NY and we continue to work on some very fun and off the wall projects. More to come!

Drawing super CUTE Pet-icatures at (Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital) yesterday and back Friday! The wonderful staff who do their great work for the health of people's beloved Fur-babies enjoeyed theese fun sketches :) I worked from a lot of photos and in some cases the composition of the photo itself was already so great all I had to do was recreate. ~ PS - Yes I draw pets!

Pumpkin Horror-cature at a FIRST Birthday party!
This distinguished gentleman thought he could stump me with "I want to be chased by ghostface from Scream." .. I said "Challenge accepted!" ... and here we are. I love how it turned out and he was a great sport allowing me to share on my 'socials'.

First Birthday! I spent the afternoon drawing 80 guests on this one poster page 😮It took exactly three hours from start to finish including extra doodles and erasing. This will be a great memory for the entire family. Maybe you have a big celebration coming up?

Such personable and likeable guy, great smile, and excellent art ability! He can do drawings from photos too which was amazing as my groom and I were too busy to get ours done but he did one of us from a photo 💗 such a sweet memento and we will definitely frame it! My only regret was not hiring him for the entire night! Highly recommend Cory and we will for sure hire him again for other future family events 😁😁"

Hi! I did a thing! A fun project this summer making table place settings for a small wedding anniversary party. It was a fun extra little work of original art that everyone could take home with them. Thanks for the great idea Susanna Stewart Events.

Hilarity ensued! Great couple at the wedding last weekend! Hand it to this gentleman for having so long a beard he can braid and provide a Rapunzel style swing for his sweetheart 😁
It was a great night with a great crowd and the bride walked over two hours in and said "wow this guy is popular!" I was happy she hired me to show her that haha!!

My foray into a commercial shoot as a singer! Just completed singing voice over for the shoot. I had to go from full project to movie theatre shhhh. It was a blast taking direction and getting great takes. We had it in 2, then did a bunch more to see if we could do just one better a la Neil Peart in the studio .... having an absolute BLAST !!!

About Me - A Brief History of me
Hi! My name is Cory Van Ieperen. I was a skilled portrait artist early on. Once during 2nd grade, I was pulled out of the class assignment to draw my entire class!
Growing up, I was an avid comic book collector and movie nut; drawing comics of my favorite music groups the Beatles and KISS as well as other super heroic oddities. My love for the creative showed through as I spent countless hours developing comic strips, dreaming up rock bands and designing role playing games that went no further than in a drawer somewhere.
