Kahlua, Cava and myself and DoberDad will be staying home this year. It will be a miracle if any of us make it to midnight! 😂

It’s that awkward time of year between Christmas and New Years where you have no idea what day it is, you live in your jammies and haven’t left your house in days. Apparently it’s called ‘Twixmas’.

Today, you would’ve been 🔟. Happy Heavenly Birthday to our Angel Dobie Sister, Hennessy! 🕊️

She is the reason why Lua and Cava are here and the reason the page even exists. She was my first dog and she ignited my love for the Doberman breed. Tragically she passed away when she was just 1 and a half and she took a little piece of my heart when she left that day. I still think about her often. Like whenever I hear ‘One Dance’ by Drake. Miss you H! 🤍

Happy November 1st! Kay, I love Christmas and all, but I’m not about to start bombarding everyone with Christmas just yet!

Autumn is so short lived in Canada, but I’m gonna hold onto all the Fall Vibes for a little while longer. I’ll be sharing lots of Fall Feels throughout November. And we have a very exciting GIVEAWAY planned for our Canadian 🇨🇦 friends. Hint Hint: It involves our Lake House (pictured here).

Additionally, we still have Remembrance/Veterans Day and similarly in the Portuguese Culture we have a Fall Harvest Festival called ‘Sao Martinho’ which also falls on Nov 11. So I personally only start preparing for Christmas later in November.

Tomorrow we’ll be celebrating Kahlua’s 7th Birthday. Which is wild because these photos literally feel like yesterday.

I’m unsure how to feel because I know all the stats on Dobermans. I’m grateful for the amazing years we’ve had (especially since I lost Hennessy before her 2nd birthday & I’ve seen far too many of our IG Dobie friends pass away far too young from DCM, Wobblers etc) … but I’m also scared because it just sunk in that she’ll soon be a senior citizen.

Until recently, I’ve been living in a state of blissful ignorance as she’s always had a clean bill of health. A few weeks ago we got her annual blood work results back and she’s returned some high Liver markers. What a wake up call. We are working at getting those Liver levels under control (shout out: ) so that we hopefully get many more days and Birthdays together!

As a way to celebrate Lua’s upcoming Birthday, I’ll be sharing some fave Lua memories on Posts and Stories. 🥰

I’m in my Dog Mom Era and this is who I am now. Yes, we have matching Bucket Hats - Lua and Cava influenced me to get one like theirs. If you have a problem, you can take it up with them (but I wouldn’t dare).
