The season for laser treatments is finally here!
We often get the question, "How long does laser take?" Here's a general idea of how long each body part takes. Mind you, laser can be done almost anywhere. Please inquire.
Laser takes minutes out of your busy day but lasts for weeks with no downtime!
Stubble, ingrowns, dryness is a thing of the past!
Conside laser for smooth skin!
💫DGF SkinMed is absolutely thrilled to be recognized as one of the leaders in medi aesthetics. We appreciate the recognition and will continue to treat all of our patients like family!
👏🏾Thanks again for trusting us with your beautiful skin!
With appreciation always!
Most of us under hydrate, especially when the season drastically changes. The same amount of moisturizer that is used during the warmer months sometimes isn't enough to keep the skin from looking and feeling dry. Don't be afraid to hydrate the skin!
Hyaluronic acid and vitamin c are essential topicals that can be used all season long but especially during cool months.
Happy hydrating!!

Laser season has finally arrived!
If you have never considered laser in the past, don't let fall / winter 2023 pass by.
The freedom of not having to worry about unwanted hair is priceless.
Feel free to send us a quick message if you are interested. We would love to answer your questions.
Sometimes, we make skincare more complicated than it needs to be. Keep it simple! What works for your friend doesn't necessarily mean it will work for you.
Let DGF SkinMed assist you with caring for the most important organ (our biased opinion, of course)!
Chronic acne, ingrowns, dryness, pigmented lesions, vascular lesions, oiliness. Sometimes, the skin is trying to let you know that's happening on the inside 🤔
Love the skin you're in!
As the season changes, we often feel like warm beverages. The next time, why not swap a cup of coffee for a cup of hibiscus tea.
🌺🫖🍵
Hibiscus tea has many amazing benefits for your skin, including the ones listed.
Layering or flooding the skin 💦💦💦
As skincare experts, our goals are to create a healthy epidermis for each patient we come in contact with. Even when we aren't treating, we are constantly in our heads about what we can do to make the skin look and feel fabulous! I know, it's a bit compulsive, but it's the way we exist! 😁
Skin flooding is another way to achieve a healthy glow! When we talk about layering or flooding, this process involves using humectants one after the next during your PM routine. In reality, you can do this at any time, but personally, we think the skin can benefit more when this routine is done in the PM.
As the weather turns, layering is the way to go!
Here's a simple routine to try!
1. Use a cream based cleanser. Rinse.
2.* Blot the face, neck, decollete (no rubbing). Leave the areas above damp, let the pores do what they are supposed to do! 😊
3. Add hyaluronic acid (on damp skin). Remember, hyaluronic acid works best when the skin is damp. If the skin isn't damp, this can cause your skin to appear dry. 🫣
4. Add a few drops of niacinamide right away. Niacinamide is a vitamin B and is an excellent topical for the skin. Think of it as leafy greens for the skin! 🥬🥬
5. Lastly, use a hydrating moisturizer to seal in all the amazing products.
We hope you try this routine throughout the winter months. We know you will see a significant difference in the way the skin appears.
Happy skincare ✨️ ☺️
And just like that, it feels like fall again!🕯🍁
Personally, fall is one of my favorite seasons of the year. What follows is another conversation altogether. ❄️🥶
We have made some changes to our menu and wanted to share it with you.
Our fall & winter offerings are listed above. Don't worry we can customize any treatment plan to accommodate all of your skincare goals.
Fall/ Winter 2023!
Fall is the time to re-evaluate your skincare goals and routines. The routine you had in the summer months may need a slight adjustment as the air cools and the temperature drops.
Be sure to listen to the skin it will tell you what it needs. If the skin feels dry, don't hesitate to hydrate.
Topical vitamin C found in this lightweight face oil offers a multitude of benefits for your skincare routine. Mollis is a powerful antioxidant that protects against environmental damage, brightens the complexion, promotes collagen production, repairs sun damage, evens out skin tone, enhances hydration, and improves skin health.
The benefits of adding mollis to your daily skincare routine are endless.
We all know someone who never uses a body lotion?? The number one reason they chose not to apply a daily lotion is because they don't want to feel greasy. Coming in as the second reason why they neglect to apply a body lotion is because they do not want it left on clothing.
Not all body lotions will leave you feeling greasy. It's important to find the best one that hydrates and protects the skin from environmental stress.
A body lotion is important to apply all year long, especially as the season changes. Applying a daily body lotion takes a few minutes, and the skin will love you for it!
Here are a few tips that can help you maintain silky smooth skin all year long.
Facial season is year-round, but as the summer turns into fall, it's important to pay keen attention to how the skin looks and feels.
1. Have I had to much sun exposure? 🤔
2. Am I consistently using a spf during the daytime and reapplying when necessary?
3. Am I using the correct cleanser, serum, and moisturizer?
4. When was the last time I washed my facial brushes? 🤔
5. How much water have I had to keep hydrated?
6. Have I had an opportunity to have a professional skincare consultation with a professional skin expert?
These are just a few questions to ask yourself. We are always excited to help you along with your skincare goals.
Salicylic acid can be a great addition to your skin care routine, particularly when you are having breakouts.
The benefits are endless.
Say yes to avocados for healthy skin!!🥑
Supplementing your diet with a beautiful avocado salad like this one will help your skin look and feel healthy.
Avocados contain vitamin C, E, K, and B6. It also contains omega-3. Omega-3 from avocados also aids in suppressing inflammation in the body. It can help reduce acute skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema.

What is the difference between hydrating & moisturising?
Depending on your skin type, which one would you choose.
Here's a simplified explanation below.
🫧🧴Cleansing the face, neck, and decollete.
Most of us jump right into washing our faces without washing our hands first. I can't express how important this step is in maintaining a healthy skincare routine.
Many skincare professionals would agree that the most important step in our daily skincare routine besides using a broad spectrum sun cream is the 'cleaning' step. This is why it's important to find out what skintype classification we fall under.
When we are looking for the correct cleaner, we have to first consider what skintypes we are?
There are many different classifications, including: oily, normal, dry, sensitive, dehydrated, combination, acne prone, hormonal, or a combination of a few listed above. Besides the obvious ones, we also have to consider underlying (autoimmune) issues such as eczema, rosacea, and psoriasis.
Here are a few easy steps to follow when cleaning.
There is no need to use super hot water on the face. Many moons ago, it was said to use hot water to 'open the pores' 🙄🫣. Pores never close. Please stay clear of using hot water.
📍Lukewarm, or cool, temperate water is best. Besides, it refreshes and soothes (cryotherapy).
🧴Place the appropriate cleanser on your fingertips, and apply in circular motion on the face and neck.
Pay keen attention to the T zone (nose area) and U zone (jaw line) and never forget the hair line.
Rinse with cool water and pat dry using a cotton towel. Sometimes, leaving the face to air dry is amazing, too!
Remember never to use the same towel or wash cloth used on the *body. This is a bacteria disaster waiting to happen. Always have a separate towel for the face area.
What is Sebum?
Simply put, Sebum is a natural lubricant that is produced by the sebaceous glands and is meant to protect the skin from drying out.
These glands are found in the dermis and are also attached to hair follicles.
There are thousands of sebaceous glands all over the body. Sebaceous glands are mostly found on the face and scalp. The only areas of the body that do not have sebaceous glands are on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. This explains why our hands and feet get so dry if we don't moisturize them daily.
Keeping the sebaceous glands healthy (topically) can be done by following a few simple steps.
* Keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
*Using a suitable daily cleanser.
*Applying products containing salicylic acid.
*Moisturizing AM & PM.
*Using a daily mineral based sunscreen.
Acne can be a very frustrating problem for many people. Over the last 15 to 20 years, we have seen a steady increase in the severity of how acne presents. Many adults continue to be plagued by constant breakouts. Acne does not only present itself in the teen years.
By now, we can agree that there are a few reasons why some individuals suffer from acne and others don't. Genetics, hormones, and diet play a huge role in the severity of these sometimes embarrassing formations. The most common areas acne presents are often on the face, chest, shoulders, and back.
📍Awareness & Ownership
We are aware that inflammation and poor circulation are some of the causes of acne. Let's not forget that bacteria sitting in the pores does not help either. We have also learned about keeping the *gut biome in check! Many years ago, there was a saying,'we are what we eat'. 🤔 By now, we know how sugar stresses the body and can cause severe inflammation in the tissues.
📌 Good skincare starts from the inside out!
📍A simple solution that can help:
Using a daily bodywash with active ingredients such as glycolic or salicylic acid can help eliviate the severity of the breakouts before they turn into pigmented spots. Depending on the skintype, these spots can last for months.
Laser hair removal/ reduction gives our patients the peace of mind they deserve to feel confident.
No more fussing over razors anymore and no more dry skin associated with constantly shaving the same areas!
Consultations are complimentary!
Masking! 💦💦💦
Aestheticians use masks for many different reasons, including calming the skin down after facial treatments.
If used correctly, masking can be very beneficial to any routine. The challenge is to find out what works best for your skin type.
There are many different types of masks. Here are a few below 👇🏾
》Sheet
》Cream💫
》Gel
》Mud
》Clay
When Mollis was created, we wanted to make sure that our blend had 3 important criteria.
1. Organic origins 🫒
Mollis contains all organic sourced essential oils. These oils are cold pressed, non GMO, and packed with vitamin E & C essential for healing and nourishing the epidermis.
2. Light in texture 💦
In recent years, using oil on the face has become main steam. If you are from the Caribbean or African diaspora, you know that using oils has always been a part of our daily lives! I don't think we had a choice, and I am happy for that!!
We wanted to make sure that every drop of mollis was light enough to pe*****te into the skin without making our patients feel 'greasy'. We recommend 2 to 3 drops at the AM or PM routine with your care cream. Pat into the skin and let the pores do its job.
Our 1oz bottles are marked with indicators so that you don't overuse mollis. Remember, a little goes a long way!
3. Treatment based 🫒
Creating a treatment oil takes a lot of care and thought. We wanted to create an oil that was suitable for all skin types but will also treat daily skin issues such as exzema, psoriasis, pigmentation, and ingrowns caused by waxing and shaving.
Mollis can also help in the healing stages associated with burns, scrapes, and bruises.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
