Dear Lakeshore Village Residents we want to hear from you!

Take part in our brief Lakeshore Village Community Survey and you will receive a $5.00 voucher for the Good Food Market held in Lakeshore Village every Wednesday from 4-6:30 pm.

This survey has been developed by a group of residents living in the Community called Lakeshore Village Action Group. We lead community capacity building through consultation, education, and advocacy in order to promote a healthy Lakeshore Village community.

Information from the survey will also help us to plan and to build a stronger community. Please share your needs, ideas, and vision.
It will take about 10 minutes of your time to complete.

In conducting this survey, we are interested in learning more about what you think, as well as your needs and your concerns facing Lakeshore Village.

We kindly ask that only Lakeshore Village residents take part in the survey. (Lakeshore Village boundaries- Birmingham/9th/Lakeshore Blvd/13th).

Grilled Sweet Potatoes Recipe

PREP TIME
20 mins

COOK TIME
10 mins

SERVINGS
4 servings

Ingredients
2 pounds sweet potatoes
3 to 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Kosher salt

Dressing
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro (including tender stems)
1 teaspoon lime zest or lemon zest
2 tablespoons fresh lime or lemon juice
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
A pinch of salt

Method

1. Prepare the grill, prep the sweet potatoes:
Prepare your grill for hot, direct heat. While the grill is heating up, peel the sweet potatoes and slice lengthwise, or on a diagonal, into 1/4 inch-thick pieces. Coat the sweet potato slices with olive oil and lightly sprinkle with Kosher salt.

2. Make the cilantro and lime dressing:
Combine all of the dressing ingredients into a small bowl.

3. Grill the sweet potatoes:
Once the grill is hot, lay the sweet potato pieces down onto the grill grates. Cover the grill and cook until each side gets some grill marks, between 3-6 minutes for each side, depending on how hot your grill is.
4. Toss with dressing:
Toss the sweet potatoes in a bowl with the dressing and serve hot.
