It was an intuitive approach to begin with studies of natural elements placed in a different virtual reality with added effects and unusual space, ultimately creating entirely new sets of “objects”.

During the long winter hours, a snapshot I took in Venice inspired me to paint the mystery and drama of a decaying world.. The title contains the date and hour details, as an archive of a moment frozen in time.
The architectural gem, was challenging and gave me the thrills while studying the volumes in a particular perspective from a boat.

Silent Flight
Oil on canvas, 2000, 36” x 48” (91.5 x 122 cm),
William Shatner, the famous actor, got this painting without second thoughts more than twenty years ago.
His passion of infinite space still shows now with his determination in fulfilling a dream!
At that time, I decided to isolate a paper structure on a background suggesting deep space, as in flight, in an unusual setting, a strategy used by the surrealist artists.
The effect was strong.
Th owner of Peterson Gallery, Dick Peterson, was intrigued and liked it, as it reminded him of “Star Trek”.
One day he came to me smiling and announced that William Shatner “Captain Kirk” just came into the gallery, attracted by the image, and bought it on the spot.
