First day in Halifax for a girlfriends’ weekend away. Loving the food scene here. Missing a photo of the lobster corn chowder. It was so delicious, I forgot to photograph it.

Sorry for the social media silence. I’m still here. Doing some self care (my muscles are screaming pay attention!) and I’m quietly working in the background on some Christmas ornaments for this year. Yes, I have to start this early. I sourced some rare vintage crystals for new angel ornaments, which I will reveal in July for Christmas in July (how did that become a thing?).

What do you think of these dangly ornaments? When I sourced the glass rings, I thought they looked like wreaths. There are more to make and each one will be unique as I select an assortment of beads that add some extra sparkle.✨

A new mug has arrived ❤️
How pretty is this handmade, hand carved chickadee mug from
It came with a tea bag tucked into the mug and it happened to be my favourite flavour, lemon ginger. Everything about this warms my heart and makes me smile.

I have also preordered a yellow hand carved bee mug and oh I can’t wait for it to arrive!

Happy to support a small Canadian business. Tea time!

The sweetest pair of sparkly, crystal dangle earrings that look like branches of leaves. Available in silver or gold. The ear hooks are stainless steel. 2 of each pair are available.

Jazz up your everyday style at the office, a day out, or a night out.

If interested in a pair, dm me and I’ll provide all the details.

Happy Groundhog’s Day and Happy Birthday to my husband! Hoping for an early Spring. If it’s a sunny day, I will photograph when the sun is not directly shining in through my windows. I can work around it. I do miss the sun. 😎🌞

How did another month slip by so quickly?!

After having a busy November/December, I took the month of January to take care of myself again. I focused on balancing my life and eating healthy.

I have been working behind the scenes, sourcing vintage glass for new angel ornaments, figuring out how I’m going to sell my jewelry after closing my Etsy shop, and developing my list of what I’m going to create this year.

I also had to purchase a new laptop and I’m learning how to use Windows again after being an Apple user for 19 years. I thought I was a techie 😅

I also read 4 books and finishing my 5th. Check out:
Yellowface by R.F. Luang
Yellow Wife by Sadeqa Johnson
Friends, Lovers and The Big Terrible Thing by Matthew Perry
Finding Dorothy by Elizabeth Letts

I also read Tom Lake by Ann Patchett. I found it to be a slow read, but Patchett is good at storytelling.

Sorry for the long post. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing with you the new jewelry I created for the Fall shows I was in. The new vintage crystals for my Angel ornaments have arrived and if they work, I will share them with you and purchase more for the 2024 Christmas season. And it’s time to work on more anklets for this year’s spring/summer season. I hope we see sunshine soon! 🌞

Take care everyone!

After a much needed long break, my weekend plans are organizing my jewelry making area and my knitting nook. I tackled my knitting nook this morning. I think I’ll be dead before I knit everything from my yarn stash, wips and my want to knit queue 🤣

The same applies to my jewelry stash.

I’m sure I’m not the only maker with this problem. 🙋🏻‍♀️ Anyone else willing to admit? 😉

Getting organized gives me the opportunity to declutter and inspires me with new ideas. I’ll be ready to create again this week.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and not letting winter deter your plans (those of us who weathered last night’s snowstorm).

As the minutes tick down to the end of 2023, I have been reflecting…

It wasn’t the easiest or best year. That’s ok. But the support I got from everyone was amazing. You all were so kind and I felt the love.

I’m proud of what I was able to accomplish in 2023. I’m inspired to create more in 2024. There’s a lot of gemstones in my stash and a lot of yarn to knit! And a pile of books to read.

I wish everyone a Happy New Year full of good health, good times, creativity, peace and lots of laughter! Tomorrow is the first page of a 366 (leap year!) book… what is your journey?

I’m late posting a Merry Christmas greeting. Sorry, I was in the kitchen cooking for Christmas Eve and Day dinners and last minute baking (better late than never!). I’m literally stuffed. I think I only need water for the next few days.

As always, White Christmas was played Christmas Eve. We didn’t get one this year, but I’m sure snow will arrive soon.

I hope this Christmas brought you joy, peace and some magical moments.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight 😴

I have bought a few of ornaments over the years and I love them all. Bruce’s craftsmanship is amazing and he comes up with new designs every year.

Please check out Bruce’s IG page and give him some love with a follow. I know you will love the variety of products he creates… pepper mills, crochet hooks, bookmarks…

My mystery advent stocking is coming along. I’m a few days behind, but catching up. I’m about to start Day 18.

This is my first time participating and it’s fun and relaxing. Isn’t it how it’s supposed to be? Baking minced meat tarts for my husband can wait 😊

I have been nursing a lingering cold. I’m losing my voice today. I’m quietly sitting and listening to the click clack of my knitting needles. I hope to be feeling better by Christmas Eve.

What are on your knitting needles?

12/21/2023

Winter Solstice. The shortest day of the year has arrived. We can now look forward to longer days. When it gets dark at 5pm, I’m ready for bed right after dinner 😂

My family is now preparing for Christmas. My daughter was baking sugar & spice cookies for her students and colleagues last night. The house smelled amazing! We got the slightly over-baked batch to eat and they were still delicious 😋. There is more dough in the fridge for our cookies.

I have been feeling under the weather (lingering cold) and will be starting my baking late. I have the energy to knit right now and I will post my progress on Arne & Carlos mystery advent stocking. As usual, I’m always behind.

Take care everyone!

My last custom order of the year was a pair of bracelets for Hanukkah gifting. 🕎

I’m really pleased with the design of these bracelets. The flash on the kyanite and mother of pearl beads are stunning 🤩. Kyanite protects from negative energy, aligns all the chakras and does not need cleansing. Mother of pearl calms and soothes fear, providing protection from negative energy and helps us become more harmonious and balanced.

May these bracelets bring their recipients comfort and light in times of darkness.

Are you still shopping for the holidays? Drop by today. I’ll be there.

12/08/2023

I’m completing custom orders today. I do love connecting with people through the process of creating a custom piece for them.

It starts off with a request for an item of jewelry. Maybe they know the gemstone they want or the colour they like and the type of metal (sterling, stainless or gold-filled). I send them photos of the gemstones I have in stock and a mock-up of a style they may like.

My customer couldn’t decide between a green aventurine or a kyanite gemstone drop pendant and is buying both. Why not, her gift recipient can switch them up!

I’m really happy with the minimalist style of these pendants.

Happy Chanukah to my family and friends. May the candles continue to burn bright, bring us joy and love, as we come together.

Chag Sameach!

Pantone’s colour of the year for 2024 is Peach Fuzz. Thoughts?

Doesn’t excite me, but I could be persuaded 😊

I have been immersed in the creative process, staying up into the wee hours of the night… knotting gemstones, making earrings, planning new designs, making wire loops for gemstone charms…

I’m running on adrenaline!

I have been struggling with words for this post. What happened in Israel on Saturday is a shock. There has never been so many Jews killed in one day since the Holocaust.

Israel has every right to defend their country against terrorists.

I pray for my family, friends and the people of Israel.

I stand with Israel. Am Yisrael Chai 🇮🇱

I know that this post will receive hate comments. I will not be silenced.

Hello October! My favourite season, although Mother Nature thinks we should still have summer weather for another week 😎.

The warm weather can continue, but I’m inspired by Fall colours for my jewelry making and cozy knits for my wardrobe. Oh and Halloween 🎃

Stay tuned…

09/30/2023

I think this is my new favourite colour palette.

I’m dreading closing my happy place for the season in a few weeks. I’m grateful for the memories we create here. We create memories at home too, but here everyone is relaxed, not worrying about work and errands to be done. There is time for board games, rousing games of Wizard, reading, puzzles, knitting, lots of s’mores and the sleeps are better here.

But for now we’ll enjoy another weekend of glorious weather and say goodbye to September.

09/23/2023

Hello Fall and new changes.

I have made the decision to close my Etsy shop. It isn’t a difficult decision, it’s the right decision.

I’m focusing on creating new jewelry pieces for the 3rd annual Craft & Cheers show. It’s at my place this year, bigger space. I love this show and being able to interact with people in person.

I also have new ideas for knitting and crochet stitch markers, as knitting is my other favourite craft to do.

My jewelry and stitch markers will continue to be available for sale. I will post new creations and if you’re interested, you can message me for pricing and shipping details. E-transfer and PayPal invoicing available.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me. I truly appreciate the connections I have made.
