Some good knocks from Balraj 27(22), Amit Goyal 39(32), Jagdeep Panag 47(52),Amarjot 32(28) & jobanpreet 27(20) took us to a par score. A great entertaining partnership b/t Jagdeep Panag & Amarjot Singh 75(60) was the centre of attraction in first innings.
It was a good bowling effort as well with Rajkamal Singh (7-1-19-4) & Jobanpreet Singh (7-0-30-2) top performers .

Our MOM will be shared with Rajkamal Singh & Jobanpreet Singh with a great all around performance.

Great start of the season. Players nailed it in every aspect. To start with batting wasn’t Upto the mark as only stand up partnership 33(54)was between Tajdeep Gill 32(57) & Harkamal11(24)that gave us a competitive score to defend . Our bowlers were ready for the task from the start with Rajkamal, Amritpal & Amarjot were among the wicket takers. Man of the match award goes to Amarjot singh (6-1-15-5) . Took 5 crucial wickets under 6 overs and lead us from the front towards a fabulous win .
Last but not least special appreciation for Varinder Chawla who took a brilliant catch when opposition was building up partnership.

The 2021 season indeed was one of the most fascinating season for Five Rivers.
Premier Team: With the mix of old and new players, it took some time to come up with best combinations. After struggling in the first 6 matches, Five Rivers made a strong comeback in the 7th match & won next 4 matches out of 5 beating 1st & 2nd top teams in the group, Cosmos & Blues, in hard fought matches. Most importantly we enjoyed playing and made lot of good memories in the process. Everyone played their part & hopefully we will come back stronger next year.
Dont wanna forget the performances of our 2 new players added to the premiere team this year.

Rajdeep singh maan highest wicket taker from our team and overall 6th (17 wickets)
Simar Charath our one of the best finds for the team, gave his match winning performance in the last match against blues 2wkts and 40 runs with the bat.


Five Rivers 2: There was lot of resilience shown by our second team as well with some notable performances. As most players were new and getting to know each & their game, it was great to see team playing together & showing character. Special thanks to Harpreet Lali for leading the team and making all arrangements.

Less than 24 hrs left for our first game against manitoba eagles. Last year we ended our season playing against manitoba eagles and staring this year with the same team as well. Hope to see a great game.
Second game on sunday is against defending champions sher-e-maples and looking forward to see once again a breathtaking match as we witnessed last year.

To start with, it was a proud moment for 5 rivers to join the premiere divison this year . It was a learning expreience for us to play with such great players and some of our players has performed exceptionally well.

Our captain Abhishek Vashist has lead his team into the right direction and motivated each player throughout the season and we appreciate his efforts for the team he has done.

We would love to congratulate Kamal Billa for finishing at no. 4 position in bowling standings and we hope he continues to perform like this in next season as well and Amit Goyal who is standing at no. 13 who has performed really well in some difficult situations.

As the Team was new we took some time to learn things, but Special thanks to Amit goyal and Abhey Chahal for their support and contribution to the club as always.

The only thing that kept us going in this covid-19 year is Cricket and on behalf of everyone in the team we really appreciate the efforts of manitoba cricket association members who worked really hard to make cricket possible this year 🙏

At last i would like to thank Abhey Chahal ,Amit Goyal , simranjit singh ,Hardeep Singh Toor ,jagdeep singh panag, krupesh patel, harmandeep singh, Arsh Sandhu , Jaskaran Sandhu, harpreet singh lali, simran thind, devinder sembhi, tajdeep Deep Gill , Amar Deep, jagroop singh gill🙏 for putting their efforts into the team and tried their best for the team 🙏

After struggling , Five rivers made a fantastic come back againt Mb eagles .
As the Mb eagles won the toss and decided to bat first .

The start was really good as (Harman) and (kamal) bowled decently and got early wickets .
The captain himself ( Abhishek Vashist) came in and bowled some valuable overs and took couple of wickets as the another spinner (Aman poonia )also made it diffucult for the batsman to score runs .
Amit Goyal, Kamal Billa, and did a great job by putting pressure with the ball as the team fielded really well and contributed to the team as the given target by Mb eagles was 138 runs .

To get to this target was not easy as the batsman were having tough time with the bat. The middle order clicked in and took it home as Amit , Abhishek , Simranjit singh, Harman and how can we forget finished it in style with a sensible innings of 34 . Not out .
