The gritLIT 2024 Short Story Contest closes soon! ✒️

We are accepting submissions of fiction or creative non-fiction — 2,000 words or less — for the 2024 gritLIT Short Story Contest. This year’s theme is MILESTONES.

Deadline: January 31, 2024
Entry Fee: $25

Winners receive $500 (First Place) or $150 (Two Honourable Mentions) PLUS all winners will be invited to read at gritLIT 2024 in April. Winning stories will be published on the gritLIT website.

The crew here at Attic Books is looking for a new member. If you don’t know about us, Attic Books is a large second-hand bookstore run by a team of friendly, reliable, kind and hardworking people, located at the heart of London, Ontario in the Downtown core.

The position would be part time (2-3 days per week), with the possibility of more days depending on schedules. Ideally one shift will be for a Saturday. Your work schedule will be the same week to week, unless you need to make changes due to your own plans. Currently we are open Monday to Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm.

Wage: minimum wage to start ($16.55/hour).
