So.... here's a poem about being vulnerable, about saying what you have to say, about standing in front of people and just "being your own truth". I'm not really sure myself where this poem came from, but there you have it. The Jewish Public Library really exists, it's in Montreal, and I spent a lot of time there as I was growing up.

Look what came in the mail! I'm so excited to share these new copies of "Into You" with you all. I honestly never thought that I would spend so much of my time writing poems. In university I studied literature and thought I would write novels and short stories. But somehow, I found poetry and it's been an interesting journey. Anyway, please dm me for copies!

Happy Rosh Hashanah! It's funny, how at the start of the year, everything seems so fresh and so crisp. Here's another poem from "The Womb".

I saw this random truck near Denman Mall and I couldn't help but think: would approve?

September is such a time for change! It'll be the Jewish New Year soon, and kids start school; the leaves turn, and people might change jobs... instead of going wading in the pool, we wade in leaves... anyway, enjoy! This poem is from my recent collection, "The Womb". Check it out on Amazon!

“It's no accident, I think, that tennis uses the language of life. Advantage, service, fault, break, love, the basic elements of tennis are those of everyday existence, because every match is a life in miniature."

Parfois, les commentaires et les jugements d’un autre qui nous aime sont suffisamment puériles pour heurter nos sensibilités.
🍁
Sometimes the comments and judgments of those who love us are childish enough to offend our sensibilities.

Here’s a poem I wrote about the pervasiveness of money in our lives. Sometimes, we forget that life is about so much more than just dollars in the bank. I was in a really dark place when I wrote this.

Voici un poème que j'ai écrit sur l'omniprésence de l'argent dans nos vies. Parfois, nous oublions que la vie, c'est bien plus que des dollars en banque. J'étais dans un endroit vraiment sombre quand j'ai écrit ceci.

This poem is called 'Some' from my book: You, who creates

The poems from this book chronicle a certain process of healing. Sometimes healing involves re-experiencing or facing difficult memories.

I encourage you to discuss the words with people in your midst.

All my books are available on amazon as paperback or e-books.

Let me know what you think!

Sometimes, I’m afraid to acknowledge myself for who I am; I tend to think that people will judge me, so I usually pretend that I am something I am not; but then I end up in a very lonely and dark place.

I’m learning to accept myself, because that is beginning to feel more comfortable. In the end it’s all about healing.

🍁

We diagnose fear and shame
as loving and longing
for that which was lost,
a recess of the reason
while the spirit evolves.

‘The paradigm has shifted;
the plots of our stories have combined;
the talk, it was voiceless, more with doing than sharing;
but the singularity we’ve gained, is neither yours, nor mine.

The boundaries have loosened,
and something quite unique has emerged.
All’s not perfect, either; your den may need mending;
but the contours and shadows no longer burn.’

When The Night, excerpt from ‘At The End Of My Travels’
