Hashtags? Still? Why?
They're messy, ugly, a waste of time, and only useful on a horrible platform.
Just stop.

A place of repose and comfort on Stapleton
At 200 metres from the gate, over a dual carriageway, opposite fab kebab, on the edge of the hedge, where a brother or sister can rest for the next 400 metres to Trinity, the best community project I've ever witnessed - opposite the now-demolished police station - letting in light to a corner of the east side that would make you think you were in Manhattan. Evidence still of railings shorn in the war effort 80 years ago, knubs of iron poking from 300 year-old stone walls.

ABYSSICIDE — CROWN OF THORNS
Garments For Drowning In 2024
Sculptures Grown on Computational Skeletons
“We never thought that we could actually damage the ocean, it was so huge, unthinkable, like damaging a star.
Now we have people around us, expecting to outlive the great barrier reef.
To outlive massive glaciers. To witness the vanishing of endless species.
The enlightenment told us nothing was holy, everything could be quantified, mapped and measured. Nothing was sacred, except the logo. The fashion industry is a symbol of our destructive creativity.
If we zoom out, it is a suicidal nature of a species, sacrificing the fundaments of our existence.
The ABYSSICIDE garments ask us if they are a logical response, if in the end we will start to understand, something is bigger than us.”
— Andri Magnason 2024

The rich are still here; they have a LOT of good lawyers, all the best passports bad money can buy, homes on every continent, ditto boats, planes and staff.
They are cornered, and we all know what happens when you corner a well-fed, powerful, and very scared - read 'reactionary' - viper. So don't let your guard down:
The Hindujas made headlines for mistreating their servants. In India no one batted an eye | Amrit Dhillon Although some domestic staff in the subcontinent are treated well, for most it is a harsh and thankless existence, says freelance journalist Amrit Dhillon

How did we make the ABYSSICIDE sculptures?
DANCES WITH PLANES // ABYSSICIDE — Garments For Drowning In 2024
Oxidized copper planes from digital fabrication.
In this phase of the development we had been copper forming and some other processes to create the ABYSSICIDE collection.
ABYSSICIDE is an installation of body related bone sculptures grown from water, employing a biomimetic technique that mimics the accretion method by which coral forms its skeleton – transforming seawater into a solid material.
In the throes of a climate crisis, ABYSSICIDE envisions a future where our protagonists press the garments into the skin, submerge, and become one with the sea – and as the ocean levels rise, the garments for drowning in grow into a coral, layer by layer, up and around the body.
Medium: Micron layers of copper, Rhino, Grasshopper, Gravity Sketch
With: Jackson Hexin, Mark Edgoose, Marc Gibson, Christopher Ferris, Hesam Mohamed, Corliss Xian, Matty Fuller, Tristan Janle, Nic Bao, Ethan Liu, Bill, Cynthia Chen
