I can FINALLY POST THIS! My client was proposing - so I had to wait anxiously. She said YES to our collaborative creation. A beautiful Blue Diamond - and White Gold Ring. Good job Darien! Congratulations to this cute couple - and my best wishes for Darien and Hannah for a long and happy marriage!

I was just about taken for $500! Be careful… I had NO IDEA this was a thing. A phone call to my place of business - saying it was BC Hydro and they were going to disconnect my hydro. I got panicky - as I’m running a business here. If they would have taken credit card - I would have lost the money right that second. They said they didn’t take credit card - and gave me a kiosk address 3334 38th Avenue in the Sun Valley Mall- to go and pay. They even gave me a number to call (which was supposed to be Hydro Customer Support) to deal with the issue and cancel the disconnection order. I was ALMOST out the door to the kiosk to pay! I did not want my hydro cut off! I knew I paid my bills…. I even pulled up my bank statements and previous bills all marked PAID…. And they still had me panicking about losing power at my store. I have a girlfriend who works at hydro - who I luckily phoned before racing to pay this bill… and keep my power. She said it was absolutely a SCAM - and to call the police. I called the police - but because I had not lost money yet - there is little they can do. I hope they don’t get the next person on their call list - because they nearly got me!

Even though it’s a bit MISTY - it’s still a beautiful day to be out enjoying Vernon’s Sunshine Festival. Come on down - enjoy the entertainment, food trucks, and all the Venders and local shops!

My Sweet Georgia Peach… I named this piece after the beautiful Padparadascha Sapphire… more peachy in color than the photo shows. This is a 14k Rose Gold Ring - featuring the nearly 1CT cushion cut peachy/pinky colored Sapphire. New in the showcase Polished Mercantile

Does anybody know… if an awning already exists on a building that I purchased - do I need to acquire a new permit for that existing awning? I had a sign shop remove the old lettering - and replace with mine. The city bylaw is saying I need a permit for the awning now too. I have been at this location for 2 1/2 years - and don’t understand why NOW I need a permit for an existing awning. Makes no sense to me. Any knowledge would be helpful! Thx

Am I the only one that thinks this is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS - not to mention a total waste of time and resources… about a 4 page booklet and I am to include a site plan, elevation plan, and color drawings - to have a SANDWICH BOARD outside my business? What a crock!

That’s a wrap on that moment! This is why I do what I do… this was beautiful in every way… beautiful people, beautiful stones to work with for this wedding ring remake - and a beautiful surprise moment we orchestrated for Deb today. This was so fun to create - I loved every second of it. I especially loved getting to know Deb and Bob … and their lifelong love story! White Gold/Repurposed Diamonds

It is always thrilling to send new pieces out into the world. I salvaged the stone out of her older styled wedding ring - where the diamond frequently became loose. My client and I worked together redesigning - and remaking the new piece that would fit nicely with her Gold/Ruby Ring. And… that diamond is never coming loose again! I love my custom clients - and being given the opportunity to be creative!

This was a fun one! Took a little longer than I wanted (I guess that happens when you’re busy and there’s only one of you!) I got to deliver this to Christina today - and she was thrilled. This Sterling Silver piece was made with her Opal and Blue Topaz - and designed to sit nicely beside her Gold/Citrine ring that she loves. A different - and unique set again! No limits when it comes to jewelry design!
