UNPOPULAR OPINION!!

2 ingredients I can't cook withoit are onions and garlic. I out these in everything I cook! My father in law hates onions but he loves my cooking, go figure! 🤷‍♀️

I UNDERVALUED REST!

A few years back I had a doctor's appointment and I was struggling with chronic pain. I said to my doctor "would it be fair for me to say that I need to slow down to speed up?" He replied with absolutely! Working on your feet for almost 20 years. Really takes a toll on your body! I've always been that person that just needs to Go! Go! Go! I'm finding in my older years that I'm struggling to keep up.

Society says you need to get 10,000 steps a day! I don't agree! Since working with my naturopath I've learned that when the Body/systems are stressed if you walk ten thousand day steps a day, you're only adding to that stress! So this summer I put it to the test! I followed her advice and kept my steps at no more than 8000 a day. I'm only allowed to do exercises that calm my nervous system like yoga and gentle nature walks! My main goal is to rest, which is really hard when you have ADHD!!

I've noticed, things are starting to shift. 👇

❤️ MY FASTING BLOOD SUGAR IS NOW 5.8!! 🥳
❤️ I'm starting to slowly loose weight!
❤️ My muscles aren't as tight.
❤️ My chronic pain is reducing
❤️ My mental Health is improving
❤️ I have more energy

The information I have learned from my naturopath is invaluable. Weight loss is not a one size fits all plan. Everyone is unique! our systems/hormones play a huge role in our overall health. If you find yourself struggling or lost with all the information out there I encourage you to see a naturopath, follow their recomendations even if it doesn't make sense to you!

BE PATIENT!
It's taken me over 1yr to see some results. Stick to the plan even on the hard days! Yes it's costly to do all the supplements but I guarantee you develolping diabetes would have cost me more!!

Depression, Anxiety, and Self-care Tips:

Shower. Not a bath, a shower.
Use water as hot or cold as you like. You don’t even need to wash. Just get in under the water and let it run over you for a while. Sit on the floor if you gotta.

Moisturize everything.
Use whatever lotion you like.
Unscented? Dollar store lotion? Fancy 48 hour lotion that makes you smell like a field of wildflowers? Use whatever you want, and use it all over your entire dermis.

Put on clean, comfortable clothes.

Put on your favorite underwear.
Those ridiculous boxers you bought last christmas with candy cane hearts on the butt? Put them on.

Drink cold water.
Use ice. If you want, add some mint or lemon for an extra boost.

Clean something.
Doesn’t have to be anything big. Organize one drawer of a desk. Wash five dirty dishes. Do a load of laundry. Scrub the bathroom sink.

Blast music.
Listen to something upbeat and dancey and loud, something that’s got lots of energy. Sing to it, dance to it, even if you suck at both.

Make food.
Don’t just grab a granola bar to munch. Take the time and make food. Even if it’s ramen. Add something special to it, like a soft boiled egg or some veggies. Prepare food, it tastes way better, and you’ll feel like you accomplished something.

Make something.
Write a short story or a poem, draw a picture, color a picture, fold origami, crochet or knit, sculpt something out of clay, anything artistic. Even if you don’t think you’re good at it. Create.

Go outside.
Take a walk. Sit in the grass. Look at the clouds. Smell flowers. Put your hands in the dirt and feel the soil against your skin.

Call someone.
Call a loved one, a friend, a family member, call a chat service if you have no one else to call. Talk to a stranger on the street. Have a conversation and listen to someone’s voice. If you can’t bring yourself to call, text or email or whatever, just have some social interaction with another person. Even if you don’t say much, listen to them. It helps.

Cuddle your pets if you have them/can cuddle them.
Take pictures of them. Talk to them. Tell them how you feel, about your favorite movie, a new game coming out, anything.

May seem small or silly to some, but this list keeps people alive.

*** At your absolute best you won’t be good enough for the wrong people. But at your worst, you’ll still be worth it to the right ones. Remember that. Keep holding on.

*** In case nobody has told you today I love you and you are worth your weight and then some in gold, so be kind to yourself and most of all keep pushing on!!!!

Hey friends...

Today on this soggy gross day, I'm meal planning! The dreaded Sunday task that makes life feel like ground hog day all day everyday. 😭

I will say I love my insolated bowl. The past few weeks I've been making some sort of side salad in it and it's be so handy to have it already pre made.
The past couple of salads I made were potatoe but I need a change.

Healing Trauma is not what I expected it to be!
But it worth it ❤️

In 2021 when I did EMDR therapy for PTSD I thought "OK! now that I've done this extensive therapy I will start to feel normal again."

2yrs later I still exhausted everyday and my nervous system is still in a hightened state. 🙈

What I do know is.....

👉 making myself a priority has become easier over time and feels way less selfish. I remind myself daily that selfcare isn't selfish

👉 Relationships have changed! Some I have moved on from and others have grown stronger. The relationship with myself has grown stronger ❤️

👉 I'm connected to my body more now then ever and I am listening to what my brain is telling me where as before I ignored it.

👉 I have compassion for those that hurt me and I see there unresolved trauma

👉 I started dancing to random songs on the radio whuch I haven't done in YEARS

Healing from trauma takes a solid commitment to yourself. It wont be linear and that's ok because there will be progress and evey little bit counts.

Today is international yoga day and there's no better way to practice them on my deck in the sunshine and close today with some Gigong and my people 🌞
