Why I don’t offer microblading anymore 👇🏻

Microblading, a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing technique, is actually considered outdated by many artists for several reasons:

1. Evolving Trends: Beauty trends shift frequently. Natural, fluffy brows that age well with time have become more popular, making microblading’s more defined look less desirable.

2. New Techniques: Advancements in permanent makeup procedures have introduced alternatives like nano brows, powder brows, and combination brows, which offer different results and appeal to current trends.

3. Maintenance and Fading: Microblading requires regular touch-ups as the pigment fades over time, which can be costly and time-consuming. The fading process can also result in an uneven or unnatural appearance. The microbladed hair strokes tend to blur out over time, in comparison to other more modern techniques, which allow the hair strokes to fade as they are without blurring out over time

4. Risk of Poor Outcomes: There have been instances of unsatisfactory results because unfortunately microblading is not well suited for every client depending on their skin type and age. Other permanent makeup options are much less abrasive, which allows the pigment to be implanted more evenly and precisely, and can be tailored to any client regardless of their skin type and age.

For this client we touched up her existing lip blush colour with a slightly darker colour to add a bit of contrast and definition, and while her lips are definitely a bit swollen.. the swelling should subside within a few days.

I don’t know who needs to hear this BUT, if you have overly saturated brows, you should really be considering laser brow removal. Here’s why:

Overly saturated brows will look dark, solid, and start to go very ashy over time. In overly saturated brows, there’s already a lot of pigment sitting in the skin. In order to touch up these brows whether to add hair strokes or correct ashy tones, we will need to add more pigment into the skin. The result will be brows that are more saturated, and possibly darker over time. So how do we correct overly saturated brows?

I’m just 1-3 laser sessions we can remove the majority of pigment which will allow us to give you a soft and natural brow that fades beautifully over time 🤍🤍🤍

2. Sun Protection: Shield your lips from the sun, as UV rays can fade tattoos. Use a lip balm with SPF!

“If I get nano or powder brows, do I still need to tint them?”

The answer is, Yes! Nano brows or powder brows only affect the skin. The hair that you have will not be affected, so if you have grey/white hair in your brows, the only way to remove them is to tweeze or tint them.

I recommend booking brow tints every 6-8 weeks, or as needed✨
