Thanks to everyone that came out to our summer camps. It’s great to work with some new and familiar faces. The kids had tons of reps especially during this second camp. We focused a lot on balance, bat path, being on time, hunting good pitches, release points and approach.
I always have a great group of kids which makes it so much fun.
Best of luck to those playing in provincials over the next few weeks, finish strong….
Keep an eye out for our fall/winter programs.
Topic of the day release points and arm angles…
Kids are never too young to be studying pitchers when they’re either warming up on the bump or in the bullpen. Pay attention during warm ups, when you’re not in the game and while in the on deck circle. Become a student of the game.
Players need to take note of the pitchers that are “over the top” and those that are 3/4 slots. The “over the top” guys ball tends to stay straight while the 3/4 guys ball will run and tends to move more.
Once a release point has been recognized, hitters should look to split the plate in two when hunting pitches……
Lots of swings today for the kids as we look to close out our last summer camp tomorrow.
As expected the field is too wet for today
We will go tomorrow 10:00-12:00
See everyone tomorrow
With the heavy rains last evening the field may be too wet for today. I will check it out this morning and post on here before 9:00 if we’re going to have a session today.
Great start with our 2nd summer camp
I truly can’t stress enough the importance of trying to help young players think about using the entire field when hitting. If it’s not fixed early it will eventually catch up to them. Don’t be afraid to let the ball travel, stay on plane,be on time and drive it up the middle or away…..
See everyone tomorrow
The weather looks great for camp starting tomorrow
10:00-12:00 at the Willie Jardine field
See everyone tomorrow

Day 5 that’s a wrap on camp
Discussion of the day. Should a hitter finish with one hand or two hands on their follow through. Does it matter???? Yeah it definitely does for some hitters. If you find yourself rolling over on pitches and hitting weak ground balls then finishing with one hand could help.
However if you’re constantly hitting weak fly balls or pop ups to the opposite field than finishing with both hands can certainly help with this.
As a player I actually used both methods. Finishing with one hand is great provided that both hands are on the bat through contact and your top hand finishes high on the follow through.
Get on the tee, get in the cage, get your work in. Figure out what works best for you….
We’re looking at a second camp in a few weeks. Details to follow soon.
Great job to all those that attended this week. The progress that was made through 10 hours of instruction was impressive. Hope to see everyone back out in a few weeks
Good luck with your games this weekend
This has been an awesome week which has gone by super fast
Tomorrow is our last day which we’ll wrap up earlier by 11:15
It’s been great to see some new faces out with some of our regular camp attendees
See everyone tomorrow at the Willie Jardine field
Balance and bat path was the message today at Day 3 of camp
Getting that front foot down to ensure the hitter is balanced and on time while keeping the bat on the same plain as the pitch until contact and through is essential
It’s been great week so far
Looking forward to day 4 tomorrow
The kids are doing great
Camp Day 3
We’re back at the Willie Jardine field this morning
We’ll be at the Willie the rest of the week unless it rains tomorrow then we will go indoors.
See everyone this am
Middle/ Away
Middle/Away
That was the message today on Day 2 at camp
Having the mindset of letting the ball travel and Staying to the big part of the field is key
Parents please don’t pressure your kids to “pull the ball”
Allow them to hunt good pitches and do damage middle/away 😀
See everyone tomorrow
