I had the great honour to design the cover for “Satish Sensei no Yumemiru Daigaku” (“One Week that Changed Our Lives”) written by published by ✨

This book documents a beautiful week in which a group of Japanese college students visit Schumacher College ( ) in Devon, UK. Satish Kumar, an Indian thinker, ecologist, and teacher provides the most profound yet easy-to-understand answers to the students’ questions. He navigates through themes such as the meaning of life, education, career, art, our relationship to nature and self, and finding hope in this often devastating world.

タイトルにある「サティシュ先生」とは、現代の代表的な思想家、教育者、 エコロジスト、平和運動家であり、ぼく自身が師と仰いできたサティシュ・クマール。舞台はそのサティシュが設立した、現代エコロジーとホリスティック思想のハブとして名高い英国シューマッハーカレッジ。本書は、大学の教員だったぼくとそのゼミ生たちたちが、そこに集うサティシュをはじめとする賢人たちや学生たちと、学びと喜びに満ちた夢のような一週間を過ごす。本書はそれを丹念に記録したドキュメンタリーだ。

What the heck does “foonie” mean?

‘foonie’ (spells ふに in Japanese) is a word coined by the artist Saya Oiwa. It expresses the feeling of deep belonging, and celebrates the tiniest adorable things in life 🦔🤏🏻🥂
