Sycamore Tiny Homes
Sycamore Tiny Homes are built and sold by KAULBACK PROPERTY MANAGEMENT INC.
A recent customer was kind enough to send us some photos of her new tiny home, now that she's had a chance to get settled in.
We absolutely LOVE the choices she has made in color and design; her home is so cheerful and welcoming...and a cozy retreat at the end of a busy day.
Summer has been BUSY at Sycamore Tiny Homes!
We have multiple builds underway AND...we moved to a new location!
In order to meet the need for multiple homes, at different phases of construction, to be built concurrently we decided it was time to make the move to a location with room to grow.
We haven't gone far...just 3 minutes down the road from our original build site...but this move is going to open up a lot of opportunities for expansion.
Stay tuned for an OPEN HOUSE in the works for mid-September!!
Constuction is messy business.
At the end of every build our tiny homes get a thorough cleaning before we deliver them to the client. In hours Neat Revolution accomplishes what would take me DAYS!
We've never had a cleaning crew with the attention to detail that Neat Revolution offers! From dusting to deep sanitizing, scrubbing to organizing...Hannah's crew is the only cleaning company we recommend.
Whether you want a one-time deep cleaning or a weekly routine cleaning you will NOT be disappointed.
Tell them Sycamore Tiny Homes sent ya!
We're excited to now be offering more availability!
I know there are soooo many individuals offering cleaning services right now, and there are some awesome companies out there. It can be hard to decide who to go with, and the truth is there is no one size fits all cleaning service. Each individual is unique, and value different things. So below I am going to list some reasons why Neat Revolution might be the right cleaning company for you!

And just like that...a brand new home on a previously empty lot.
I've said this before and I'll say it again...we COULD NOT.... WOULD NOT do this without the incredible crew from Moodie's Cranes. Professional, highly skilled, enthusiastic. All around great business to work with!
This 11x36 tiny home is entering the final stages of completion and it's shaping up to be a STUNNER!
Matte white siding and a COPPER roof (yes, with real copper infused in the finish!) create an exterior that draws you into a bright and soothing interior space.
The client opted for a large horizontal window over her kitchen sink to create a glass backsplash that changes with the light and the seasons.
With a main-floor bedroom, sleeping loft, and even a library space this house feels anything but tiny.
The pics will be flowing over the coming days as interior finishes are added. Stay tuned!
Our first Backyard Suite!
12x16, this little gem will make a "suite" addition to you property; as a rental unit or an auxiliary living space for an aging parent, even a great solution for a young adult who hasn't been able to break into the expensive housing market here.
Built to code, with all permits and inspections, this unit is super easy to heat and looks pretty sharp, if we do say so ourselves.
The Government of Nova Scotia is offering up to $25,000 in a forgivable loan for a backyard suite.

We like to think that every tiny house we build is a little work of art; a reflection of the people who live in it. The small details are as important as the big ones; from color palettes to mixing textures in wood and metal. Big windows, cozy nooks, and attention to detail are signatures of a Sycamore Tiny Home.
This build was heading to a beautiful lakefront property. We wanted the interior to feel serene and be an invitation to put your feet up and relax. A mix of different shades of grey, vertical and horizontal lines, and LOTS of windows to flood the space with light and shadow from the forest surrounding it.
Tiny House Village
At Sycamore Homes, above and beyond is the only way. Each client gets a custom tiny house, built to include all of the little details that make a house, a home. Here, your vision can be made a reality.
Moving day is super exciting ...and a little nerve-wracking...but when professionals do their job its a mighty cool event to watch. BIG shout out to Moodie's Cranes! You guys are AMAZING!
Just like that, a tiny home starts the morning on a construction pad, and ends the day on a GORGEOUS lake lot.
Congratulations to the owners of this amazing lake-house tiny home! Wishing you many happy memories in your little piece of paradise!!
We're super excited to be nearing the finish line on this 10'6" x 32' tiny house/cottage.
The warm grey metal siding with bold white trim and charcoal roof in metal is modern with an understated charm that will never go out of style.
I can't wait to reveal the interior. A blend of blues, grays, and weathered wood paired with classic white creates a fresh cottage-y style that is simultaneously cozy and bright.
A main floor bedroom plus TWO lofts accessed via a real staircase make this tiny charmer a real contender for even full-time family living.
Watch this space over the next several days as I sneak inside when the painters aren't looking and get a few pics of interior touches....all leading up to the big reveal next week!
This sweet 10'6" x 32' tiny house cottage is bound for lake country in New Ross area in a month or so.
Changes happen quickly in tiny home construction; the last minute addition of a couple of windows and the swap of a patio door for garden doors changed the exterior appearance a LOT.
The clerestory windows make the interior feel so sunny and open.
We're loving this one already!
Have you ever wondered about the moving process of our tiny homes that are not built on trailers?
Friday's beautiful weather made for a great day to transport this 10x28' tiny home.
Stay tuned for a video of the move!
At Sycamore Tiny Homes we don't just sell you a tiny house and send you on your way. We can help you with permits, lot prep, foundation work, and so much more.
We've been very involved in the prep work for the tiny home coming to this lot. From meeting with the town's building inspectors to consulting with an engineer and coordinating the site work, we managed all the little details.
The ideal location for a tiny home is as unique as the person buying it.
Our customer wanted to be within walking distance to amenities with a bit of a country view. So she jumped on the chance to buy this piece of property backed by a beautiful meadow, a brook, and rails-to-trails. The bus stop is a 1 minute walk...but there are red-winged black birds and a beaver lodge in her backyard.
We're helping her with all aspects of lot prep and set-up.
The town of Bridgewater has been extremely helpful and excited to see tiny homes come to the community.
Every tiny house starts as a simple assemblage of lines and dreams.
We have a computer program that swiftly lays out a floorplan...but the artsy side of me finds a lot of satisfaction in roughing out a drawing with old-fashioned paper and pencil.
Our 10x28 tiny is OFFICIALLY SOLD. We're excited about our next build with a main floor bedroom!
The last few days have really brought a lot of new developments to the tiny home! Tammy took a few pictures this morning at sunrise to showcase the progress and see the design in different lighting. It's really starting to come together.
The cabinets are still in progress, but you can really see here they're starting to shape up.
Also, anyone else LOVING these champagne brass cabinet pulls we selected?! Don't even get us started on the sliding barn door because we ❤️ it!!
Please note!!
Due to unforeseen contractor delays out of my control the Open House will be rescheduled.
Private viewings can still be arranged.
Our apologies and thank you for your understanding!!
Hannah usually works on the design end of our tiny homes, choosing fixtures and finishes. ..but she dropped by today in the middle of a rainstorm to do a walk through.
She made a great little video to show how spacious this tiny home is. (Keep in mind, our crew is working very hard to completely finish the interior in the coming days.)
Sycamore Homes ULTIMATE tiny home progress update This is a short update on our very first tiny home. So excited to share with all of our followers!
Working on a video update for you!
First time ever video editing, so it might not be top quality, but we really wanted to show you what is happening inside the tiny home right now.
I see a lot of people comment on our builds saying things such as "I could buy an RV for half that price!". While, yes you can get a 2022 RV with a similar length for about $50 000 (depending on where you're shopping and the model etc). There are some KEY differences between an RV and a purpose built tiny home. I thought I'd touch base on some of those things here.
🚙 Tin roof, prone to leaks. Sealants and membranes wear out quickly.
VS
🏡 Water tight, maintenance free, durable metal roof
🚙 Cheap, thin, leaky windows
VS
🏡 Full size windows with proper R value
🚙 Quickly depreciates in value
VS
🏡 Holds value and can even appreciate
🚙 Built for camping
VS
🏡 Built for full time living
🚙 Very little insulation, difficult to regulate temperature and prone to moisture
VS
🏡 Full, dry, spray foam insulation that will make heating a breeze
🚙 Cheap materials that frequently fail
VS
🏡 Quality materials that will last
🚙 More limited on design choices
VS
🏡 Very easy to customize to your needs
🚙Built for moving frequently
VS
🏡Built to stay put for longer periods of time
🚙Built in a factory
VS
🏡Built by an experienced professional carpenter
🚙 Not a legal dwelling
VS
🏡 A house, only tiny!
The list could go on. Don't get me wrong, RVs absolutely have their place, and many have managed to make theirs into a full time residence due to the current economy. I am in no way bashing RVs, but I think it's important to understand that when you compare the costs of buying an RV, versus buying a tiny home, there are some big differences in the construction and longevity of these two things. Many question the price, which we completely understand (it's a big step investing in a Tiny), but understanding the differences is crucial.
With the custom built kitchen nearing completion, I am so excited for this sink to take it's rightful place inside the tiny 😍
After a little Christmas hiatus and family time we're back at it.

We're so excited that this beautiful tiny farmhouse is soon ready to go on the market.
Build to NBC standards for tiny home construction, this 10x28' tiny house is 2x6 construction, with all insulation, electrical, and plumbing build to code.
The siding and roofing are quality metal from Walls Metal Roofing. The vertical white board and batten exterior instantly says "farmhouse", with the added benefit of being maintenance free. The black roof adds a touch of the traditional; again, maintenance free.
The main floor is 280 square feet, with an additional 72 square feet in the main loft; plenty of space for a queen sized bed. This loft is accessed via a staircase leading to a "dropped hallway", meaning that you can stand up full height next to your bed, such a unique and practical feature not seen in many tiny homes. And the loft area feels spacious and well-lit with a large sliding window along the hallway and recessed lighting over the sleeping area.
Under the main loft is a bathroom accessed by a solid wood sliding barn door. You'll be amazed at how incredibly roomy and well-equipped this bathroom is for a tiny home. There will be a full sized, one-piece tub/shower unit, a custom refinished vintage vanity with vessel sink, and...get this...enough space for a full sized washer and dryer!
The kitchen will have upper and lower cabinets, a 24" range, and 27" refrigerator. A generous sized window, solid wood countertops, farmhouse kitchen sink, and under-cabinet lighting makes this space feel anything but tiny.
Under the double windows on the opposite wall there is a built in bar counter with farmhouse style sconces casting a warm glow over an area that's perfect for eating, working, or enjoying the view.
Overhead a black iron chandelier adds a little substance to this bright and airy great room. More recessed lighting flows across the entire lofted ceiling and into the living room area. Three large windows on 2 walls make this room feel open and inviting, while the 3rd wall is wired for a wall mounted TV or allows space for a small woodstove.
Above the living area is a storage loft that can also accommodate a twin sized mattress. This loft is accessed by a custom built ships ladder that tucks neatly away against a wall when not in use.
The ceilings throughout this charming home are nickel-gap pine, and the walls are a combination of nickel-gap, painted board and batten, and custom wood paneling.
The floors throughout are waterproof vinyl woodgrain flooring in a gorgeous "reclaimed wood" pattern.
The home has been designed to accommodate a heat pump and can be included at the buyers request.
This tiny has been built on skids and is NOT on wheels. We want to offer quality housing, complete with occupancy permits from our local building inspector, that are designed for permanent placement. We will assist in every step of the move and will recommend a reputable local company with extensive home-moving experience.
As we enter the final stages of finishing this gorgeous little house we can offer a turnkey home, OR, the buyer could purchase as is and complete the interior to the own tastes and budget.
The completed price of this home will be $99,700+tx and includes a heat pump and basic appliances.
If you are interested in choosing finishes or completing the home yourself we are happy to provide pricing on either option. A down-payment on this little gem now gives you the opportunity to choose paint colors and other details or finish it on your own timeframe.
At Sycamore Homes we believe that EVERYONE deserves a beautiful, warm, cozy place to call home. And we're going to help people find that...one tiny dream at a time.
Opposition calls on N.S. government to build more affordable housing | CBC News Nova Scotia’s opposition party leaders say Premier Tim Houston has an oversimplified view on solving the province’s housing crisis, and are calling for concerted efforts to build more affordable units.
