My February project has FINALLY begun!

When I saw that was opening in Kentville, I knew I wanted to collab with them. Their space is bright, fun and colourful; what more could I ask for?!

Yea, I did the thing. I sent Mel a DM to see if they were interested in having a mural painted inside their new business and it was a quick "YES!"

We met for coffee in town, had a fun drafting session and even picked out pain chips together.

This is my IDEAL CLIENT! They know what colours they like and give me full creativity to do what I think will suit their space. Mel is a little ball of energy surrounding others enthusiasm and joy.

Mel and I picked out paint from in and the products are ON POINT👌

Mark was very welcoming, Sasha provided tips and colour recommendations. Our paint was mixed, special shout out to Dave and Graham also working in the shop. I will definitely be purchasing my mural paint from this boutique decor centre for future projects. The pigments are BEAUTIFUL and STRONG. They also have a variety of tools to choose from. I picked up some new rollers, paint brushes and an extra paint bin; all great quality for a fair price!

I am beyond lucky to be surrounded by some wonderful entrepreneurs in the Annapolis Valley.

I can honestly say, they feel like family 🩷

I live in the beautiful in Nova Scotia. My house is a 15 minute drive to the ocean and I absolutely adore my community.

I like earl grey tea, walks with friends and a good paint night in my art studio.

My previous career was in healthcare, working in retirement and long term care. After taking on a management role for a few years, I realized that my output far exceeded what was healthy for me (and my bank account sure didn't reflect my efforts).

Taking a step back and putting myself first was the best decision I have made in a HOT MINUTE!

I now own and operate a business with my man and create art in my spare time.

A lot of people ask me

"HOW DO YOU HAVE THE TIME FOR ALL THAT??!!"

I think it is a combination of passion and loving what I do that helps me create a balance. We also do not have children, and I can assure you this frees up plenty of time in our schedule. Shout out to all the parents and families balancing work and home-life, it's not an easy task!

I definitely book 'time off' in my calendar to recharge and reset my body and my mind. But it's taken me 30+ years to figure this balance out.

Today was a weird day. I got a lot of little tasks crossed off my list.

I was feeling quite overwhelmed and couldn't put my finger on it. So, I headed into my studio and decided to play with some new canvases and get started on a new series.

Although instagram completely deleted all of the reel efforts I put in, I managed to accept that the universe was telling me to stop.

Thank you for agreeing to a much needed walk to decompress and reset. You're a real trooper for listening to all my antics.

Living in the place with the highest tides in the world is absolutely magical. The water comes and goes, looking different every single minute of the day. The beauty that surrounds us seems almost like a dream 🌊

When my studio is full of curing canvases and epoxy resin pieces, I change my scenery and post up in our woodstove lounge to create small pieces of work on mixed media paper.

I enjoy these moments because I get to sip tea, snuggle with our cat and create smaller works of art that will be enjoyed by so many. Creating a variety of options for people to shop and enjoy is very important to me.

The movement and depth in this piece gives me the feeling of the ocean waters in between my toes as it runs into the shore. The tides in the Bay of Fundy drain multiple times a day, and when they return, they cover the ocean floor with unique impressions in the earth. What a special place to call home.
