Hey everyone!

Kundalini Yoga comes to Yellowknife every Wednesday night starting tonight.

These classes are accessible to any one, beginner to advanced. We will do series of breathwork, movements and meditations that will leave you feeling recharged, uplifted, and connected.

The classes are 530-645 and involve movement with your breath, deep relaxation, and a meditation to solidify your practice and carry those generated feelings forward into the rest of the week!

How are you breathing these days?

You've certainly heard by now how powerful breath can be in cultivating health inside you. Here's a fun breathing technique you may enjoy!

As Wim Hof puts it, it's time to get high on your own supply ;)

This breathing technique is a powerful one - It will be a deep inhale through the nose, followed by letting go of the breath to exhale. After 30 breaths you will breath and 'Shoooup' all of the air out so you can find stillness at the bottom of the breath.

Use Chhh, Shhhhh, and Sssss sounds to squeeze some hidden air pockets out. Stay there for as long as you can.

Once you feel the reflex to inhale, stay calm and pause before responding with a softening of your muscles and allow the inhale to slowly fill you back up with control.

Fill all the way to the top, gently hold the breath by swallowing the saliva (seal the breath), GENTLY Lift from the pelvic floor (lift the ge****ls, pelvis, low belly, belly button, low ribs, up towards head) everything up and in which will gently pressurize the powerful fluid in the spine up towards the brain.

Hold for 15 seconds will be good

**If you're more experienced with it you can hold longer, you know your body best - Play within you boundaries**

Stay conscious, this can be intense, if you feel too intense with the hold at the top simply don't hold for as long and go even gentler with the pressure when lifting from the pelvic floor.

Yoga is about finding your edge of comfort. The best way to expand that edge is to find it, and play just inside of it. This way you can press the boundary and become better without risking going to far and getting burnt by playing too far beyond capacity.
