Ingredient Philosophy Highlight 💥

We put a lot of love into the ingredients that we choose for our products. ♥️ And now we want to take a moment to share about some of our favourite ingredients and the philosophy behind them!… 👩🏻‍🔬🧑‍🔬

🧠 Did you know the only Neurons exposed to air are in your olfactory!? Not only that, smell is the strongest of all our senses and has the most impact on our memories. 💭

When it comes to something as important as our sense of smell, we believe no corners should be cut. In products with less attention to detail, corners are often cut that can take away from your experience, or worse yet are toxic!

The majority of home spa products have unnecessary chemicals that may be carcinogenic, they may be endocrine disrupters, aggregate skin conditions or cause other health issues.

One of these ingredients is the all too common ‘parfum’ or ‘fragrance’ which is like a blanket term that prevents you from knowing what’s really in the product and can and does often hide harmful chemicals from appearing on the label.

We think this is a deceptive marketing practice that’s not in your best interest.
There are four tiers for quality fragrances in products…
1️⃣ Un-natural, potentially or proven to be harmful
2️⃣ Neutral, not medicinal, not too harmful
3️⃣ Natural, some medicinal benefits
4️⃣ Natural, wild foraged/Organic, medicinal, top quality, eco friendly & sustainable.

❗️Unfortunately, most products on the market fall into tier 1️⃣
✅ Luckily as the demand grows the market is shifting towards tier 2️⃣ & 3️⃣.

🌱 Our philosophy is to take the hassle and the harm out of these products for you and always source tier 4️⃣ for any product we make or supply for you. ☀️ 



✨ Our essential oils are sourced from family run Canadian businesses, & our primary supplier is one of Canadas leading experts in the field who spends much of his time traveling the world to connect and build relationships with other small suppliers who produce these premium essential oils. 🙏

We use; Lavender, Yuzu, Cedarwood, Geranium Rose, Amber, Sandalwood, and more!

One of the products in our love ritual kit is our Mylk and Honey mask! So here’s a deep dive on the amazing properties of honey. 💫

Honey ✨:

🍯 Origin: Honey is made from nectar and a bee enzyme, that has been stored in honey combs and has gone through a fermentation process. 

🍯 Honey will keep indefinitely in a jar.  However, it can react to cool temperatures by crystallizing.

🍯 Honey is one of nature's most revered skin remedies because of it’s benefits:

🔆 It is rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants help to protect your body from cell damage due to free radicals!

🔆 It has anti-bacterial and anti fungal properties. That means, it may benefit oily and acne-prone skin.

🔆 It is a natural exfoliator, which means applying it to your face takes off dry, dull skin and reveals new skin cells underneath.

🔆 It is great for moisturizing. It’s a natural humectant, so it helps keep the skin moist but not oily. This is because humectants draw moisture from the skin without replacing it.

🍯 Fun-Fact: Honey is the only food made by an insect. A single honeybee will only produce approximately 1/12 teaspoon of honey in her lifetime. And a single honey bee will visit 50-100 flowers on a single trip out of the hive.

One our absolute favourite ingredients is Dead Sea Salts, so let’s get into it! 💫

Dead Sea Salt:

🌊 It’s an all around detoxifying bath salt. 🙌🏻

🌊 Origin: As I’m sure you guessed, these salts are from the Dead Sea which is a landlocked salt lake between Israel 🇮🇱 and Jordan 🇯🇴 in southwestern Asia. 

🌊 History: This remarkably healing lake is said to be the lowest land-based point on earth at more than 1400 feet below sea level! About 3 million years ago it became filled with water and was part of the Mediterranean Sea, until 1 million years later when tectonic activity lifted the land to the west of it isolating the Dead Sea from the mediterranean. It’s one of the first known health resorts in history due to the remarkable healing properties of its salts and was one of the greatest wonders around for the Romans, Greeks & Egyptians. 🌎 

🌊 Many people use Epsom salts but we chose Dead Sea Salts because:

1️⃣ sea salts have more benefits as they contain a whole family of minerals from the ocean and
2️⃣ comparative studies have shown that due to the molecular structure of magnesium chloride (which is in Dead Sea Salts), has higher absorption and retention levels than soaking in Epsom Salts (which has magnesium sulfate).

🌊 Fun Fact: Table salt consists of about 98% sodium, while Dead Sea salts contain only about 8% sodium. 60% of Dead Sea salts are magnesium and potassium. So the majority of it is not actually salt!

🔆 History: It’s been around for 1400 years! Used for Women living in those areas have long prized its protective, regenerative, and healing properties. 👩🏾 👩 👩🏽

🔆 Some clays are more drying. This type of clay is balancing so it’s a good fit for all skin types. With its intricate honeycomb structure, is a happy middle ground of absorbent, but not too stripping. 🐝

🔆 Magnesium Rich: helps to support the synthesis of collagen, cellular regeneration which helps reduce acne and improves the skins overall appearance 😌
