I’m a sucker for easy grab and go snacks so last night I made some granola bars. They are silly easy.
Here’s what I did:
Add 6 tbsp butter, 1/3 cup honey, and 3/4 cup packed brown sugar to a microwave safe bowl and microwave it for 1 min. Take it out and give it a good stir until butter is completely melted and mixture is combined. Microwave it again for 1 1/2 minutes.
In a separate bowl add 2 1/4 cups large oats and 1.5 cups Rice Krispies add your brown sugar butter mixture and give it all a good stir to make sure everything is covered. Now this is where it gets fun. You can add whatever you want. I added 1 cup of our Yogurt & Cinnamon Pecan mix. Give it a good stir again and dump it into an 8x8 parchment lined pan. Press it in there good and put it in the fridge for a couple hours. Once set, take it out of the pan and slice into bars. Put them in an air tight container and keep them in the fridge.
These are so good and so easy to modify to suit your dietary needs.

For those of you who attended our Family Day, you may have noticed a couple of folks wandering about filming. A team from France was here, filming a documentary on the use of logs in construction in pioneer Canada. This is a photo of Shane Mumby and his team of Canadians, demonstrating how logs were moved out of the bush. On an interesting note, Canadian horses are said to have descended from stock provided by a King of France. As if to demonstrate their strength and stamina, the "boys" proceeded to provide visitors to Family Day at O'Hara with wagon rides."
