Whatโs your favorite plastic-free swap?
One of mine is definitely produce bags. They're one of the first things that I made and used on my own low waste journey.
No more flimsy plastic baggies that don't let your fruits and veggies breathe! Keep them tucked in your favourite reusable shopping bag so they're always handy.

Bringing reusable shopping bags is a popular way many people reduce plastic waste when out and about.
With plastic bans being put into place around the world ๐, now is a good time to create a new habit of remembering reusable bags for every grocery shop.
A popular way to remember is to keep a stash of reusable bags somewhere where youโll likely see them before you step out; like in the trunk of your car or by the front door.
People also get into the habit by writing a โnote to selfโ at the start of each grocery shopping list.

The sustainable vegan journey is a bumpy road! Those early years are littered with potholes and rocks and sticks and other growing pains, like:
โป๏ธ Remembering to bring your reusables when you go out, so you can avoid single-use items.
โป๏ธ Meticulously reading ingredient labels on food and personal care products to avoid petrochemical and animal products.
โป๏ธ Feeling like youโre the only one trying to make change, and getting frustrated when it seems like others just donโt care.

A closer look at my upcycled reusable facial rounds!
What's different about these rounds? They're made from two layers of deadstock cotton flannel. Deadstock fabric is leftover fabric from another company's production run that might otherwise end up in landfill. Instead of using newly manufactured fabrics, we prefer to use these manufacturing off-cuts that may be too small a quantity for larger companies to use.
Waste not, want not. โ๏ธโป๏ธ๐
