Some tips from my business mindset for success coaching program.

Step 1. Get your laptop, pen, paper whatever you need to write everything down and take notes.

-> Your words have power when they are in black and white.

Step 2. Make a solid decision on what long term goals you want to achieve. Professionally or personally.

Step 3. Create short term goals with milestones you will need to surpass to achieve your ultimate long term goals.

Step 4. Evaluate all your assets ie your skills etc, your experiences, your network and connections and resources.

Step 5. Evaluate your budget, evaluate your time and the energy you will require to invest to reach your goals successfully.

Step 6. Now that your goals are mapped out - Strategize your plan, include your assets as ammunition to get to your goals.

Step 7. Take action on your plans. Without movement nothing will be achieved.

Step 8. Hold yourself accountable. Keep a TO DO list and a daily report to yourself to make sure you stay on top of your plan and you remain focused.

By doing all of this you paint the picture of where you want to be in 6 months, 1 year, 5 years and so forth. And you have everything mapped out to get there.

It's literally foolproof.

Ask for help when you need it. NO ONE achieves success without a helping hand along the way.

NOTHING will change unless you put determination and action into it.

Also, remember this life is a journey NOT a destination.

Everything is a learning process. Even failure. Do NOT give up.

End of year is always a hard season with slow to no work but Its also the best time to start setting up for NEXT season so you don't fall behind. Here are random head to page tips. Hope this helps.

1./ Stay away from cheap / broke homeowners who want to haggle from the start. Know your worth and stand FIRM. Go to areas where there is money! STOP trying to get blood from stones.

2./ This is the BEST time of year to attend parties/events and network your a$$ off. Have business cards ready, look sharp and get your game face on. In person networking is the MOST effective esp when people are socializing and in great moods. Follow up with who you gave cards right after the new year to keep up the momentum. Try to find out what they need in your conversations but don't be too aggressive. People are relaxing.

3./ For social media; have to do more than post blindly. It is necessary to incite engagement. Try doing a contest that engages your target client / audience and offer a service or small job you KNOW they need. Free stuff gets people to notice you - its an investment!. Tik Tok then IG both WAY better than FB. Also LinkedIn for advertising.

4./ List your business on sites like Houzz and Homestars, Task Rabbit etc to make money in the interim and also find clients. A simple task can lead to a whole house! Know how to read your potential clients and UPSELL.

5./ Google Search / Google Ads is a solid investment.. And a great website with your portfolio as your home base. Make sure your Google business page is up to date and looks good. This goes for Yelp and Yellow Pages as well. Online presence is everything: the more places you are listed the better chance of getting noticed and customers. Ask your customers to post reviews and pictures in Google for you.

6./ Network and work with GCs and development companies as a sub trade. The work will be more consistent and you'll get jobs based on previous work. Align yourself with other subtractors so when they have projects you are their go to call for any work you can perform.

7./ Word of mouth is solid advertising. Don't forget customer service is KEY - clients remember not only the work but how you make them feel. Be kind, be patient, be thorough, be clean and respectful their property and allow your customers a stress free experience. Guaranteed they will refer you to a friend.

8./ Don't be cheap! Investing actual money into your advertising is the BEST investment you can make. It takes time so be patient and consistent! There's no cutting corners. Relying on repeated social media posts or sitting doing nothing will not get you where you want to be.
