Part 1 - At King George School I been facilitating an after school ribbon skirt program. Its been going since Feb 14, 2024, once a week for an hour after school. The School sanctions have delayed some progress but today we got to finish ribbon skirts. What a wonderful feeling. I think we have about 2 classes left to finish the rest. I am so honoured to be helping the youth design and create their first ribbon skirts. My heart is this big (((((((❤️)))))))) with happiness.

This Medium shirt is almost done.
I am adding bead work around the hand on the collar and need to do the shirt hem and sewing sleeve hems. No cuffs, just a fold. I am sewing for an event. Once its done these Ribbon shirts will be available.

Here is the Small Ribbon shirt I finished under dim lighting last night. I was worried it would look rough. I was sewing with lamp light only. My nicely lit sewing area, all three bulbs finally burnt out. Today for sure I need to get light bulbs.

Good Morning - UpDATE 🌎❤️🌍❤️🌏 on my Traditional/Regalia clothing revival. (Purchased from a pawn shop in North Battleford, SK)
After getting this rainbow coloured sparkly Ribbon Skirt revived and back in shape I gifted it to a young lady who does Tipi Teaching presenatations out at Wanuskewin, Saskatoon, Sk.
I was inspired by her path of sharing knowledge about our culture. During her presentation she talked about not having a Ribbon Skirt of her own and that one day she hopes to make one herself.
I really wanted this Ribbon Skirt to be in the spotlight again as whoever made it did a beautiful job so it only made sense it go to someone who is actively sharing knowledge and love about our indigenous cutlure. Sharing knowledge helps bridge the gap in misunderstandings and creates better more fulling relationships with other people.
I hope she wears the ribbon skirt with the same love and pride that shows when she does those tipi presentations. 💖
