Spent last night at the movies with my brother... Scores of people took photos with us, the best part of costuming is seeing peoples excitement when they recognise a character and get to take pictures to show friends. It was such fun! Oh yeah, the newest Spiderman movie was amazing too haha

Getting the final details into place on the Greatsword. By tonight it should be ready to spray with plastidip and I can finally see it as more than a patchwork of foam haha

25/09/2021

Finally got all of the EVA foam covering the styrofoam base in place. Now come the sanding and sealing all those seams and gaps 😳

The Blacksteel Chopper is really starting to appear now!

Wrapped the handle in preparation for painting the rest gunmetal with my new airbrush. Figured this is a safe project to practise learning on.

Comic Expo: a place to embrace my inner weeb haha there were so many amazing cosplay and artwork displays surrounding anime and gaming that I was blown away. Here are a few costumes I enjoyed from Demon Slayer and Genshin Impact.

Costuming is best among friends!

The gang as seen from left to right - Hufflepuff wife o mine , Halo ODST my brother , Myself as For Honor's Warden , Imperial pilot Ashley , The Mandolorian Carlee.

Hobbies are best when they can be shared!
(Bonus last pic is my unicorn daughter )

Just finished spraying my new handmade ODST helmet, I was worried about the color match but it looks pretty good!

12/09/2021

Before I made my own costumes and prop, my Mom did it for me! I asked her to sew me a King Bradley cosplay for the ComicExpo my senior year of highschool. Still have it in my closet, one day I will need to fix it up myself now haha

12/09/2021

Thanks to COVID and there being no conventions, I have become really unmotivated when it comes to cosplay projects, and have shifted a lot of my hobby time to tabletop crafts and painting.
That being said, I cant wait for the opportunity for more photoshoots with my existing costumes (Which will eventually include a revamped ODST and SW Scout Trooper), and I still have some work on my weapons/shields that may call my attention this summer.
So stay posted! And cheers for all the support!

'When you run out of ammo, make due'....Go easy on me, I have slowly been teaching myself how to use Gimp to edit pictures, and today I felt like having fun playing around with an old pic. Gotta start somewhere if you want to get better...and I figured not enough Halo stuff is crossing my account so why not toss this up :P

I've run out of foam for the time being, but with what I had a decent portion of the Blacksteel Chopper frame has been covered. Now its just all the tricky small parts 😣

The main shell for the Scout Trooper helmet is basically completed.
Next up - all the details and smaller components before inserting the visor.

The base for the Greatsword's overall structure has been carved and the handle core fitted! Wife for comparison, this bad boy will be 6ft long :)

What distinguishes a Warden from common knights and mercenaries is their steadfast honor and loyalty to duty.
With the questionable methods of the Blackstone's, every Warden who serves will be forced to ask-
When should Duty transcend Honor?

12/09/2021

When traversing Ashfeld, any lone mercenary must always be on their toes... to not be in a Legion is to risk being branded a coward or a traitor, a far cry from what a traveling Warden would have once embodied in days long past.

Yesterday was my first Warden photoshoot down by the woods near my home. I just grabbed one of the pics as a teaser, but much more to come once some editing is done!

For being the first time build, the Crusader helmet didnt turn out terrible.
Still considering adding more...
This has been a lesson in not rushing things, as each step (building, sealing, painting) I've made mistakes that could easily be avoided by slowing down.
Just glad none of the flaws are tooooo noticeable :/

Just a quick little WIP: a Crusader Helmet.
This came from the template provided by Black Sheep Props.

Just finished sewing the pseudo-chain skirt for the Warden!
It honestly looks so good, I saw a h**p bag at the dollar store and thought Hmmm....so after a spray of plastidip and chrome spraypaint, this is the result!

That was the final piece I needed, future progress pics will be a completed Warden :D

The first Custom Nobushi mask of many...this was an idea I had that I am pleased looks as good in reality as it did in my head.

The script translates to "For Honor" according to Google Translate 😅 the top 2 characters are Honor on their own apparently

Another 1hr Build challenge to myself!
Today it was a Peacekeeper mask, I scaled it similarily to the Nobushi mask, and then just freehanded everything. Turned out better than I could have hoped!

Spraying and painting Nobushi and PK masks will be on the later agenda...

Photos from Pathogen Props's post 12/09/2021

I felt motivated while at work to get home and do a quick mini project: a Nobushi mask!
I sat down, folded a piece of paper in half, drew and cut out a face shape and eye hole, and BAM it looked pretty good so I went with it.

The painting and detailing further will be for another day, but for a short little project it sure was gratifying :)

Finally added some details to the new ODST helmet. The shiny sections are Kwik Seal, which I use to fill seams and cracks in the foam.
Now its nearly ready to be sealed, but first I need to decide on if I will add any accessories...

Throwback to my very first foray into costume making ever (in gr10) with nothing but cardboard, white duct tape, and friends to join in!

14/04/2020

Next year, I will be keeping it light with more prop oriented projects, and not full armor costumes...that being said, these are the bare minimum I want to accomplish:
Mista (JoJo's Bizzare Adventure)
Goblinslayer helmet
Blacksteel Chopper (Monster Hunter World)

14/04/2020

Self Goals! These projects are all very close to completion, and I am determined to get them done this year for once the virus fiasco is over.
