It's World Environment Day, and at TRWD, we're proud to join the global movement for positive environmental action!
We are proud to share the outcome of our spring Trash Bash, in which our staff and community volunteers participated in:

🌿We collected trash near the floodway and local reservoirs. This will prevent plastic/trash pollution that harms the environment, regional water supplies, and wildlife.

🌿TRWD staff and volunteers conducted cleanups at Richland-Chambers Reservoir, Bridgeport Lake, Marine Creek Lake, and pop-up locations along the Trinity River.

🌿We joined forces with Navy Sailors during National Navy Week to clean up trash at Airfield Falls.

🌿1,764 volunteers signed up for this year's spring Trash Bash.

🌿Our passionate Trash Bash volunteers collected a jaw-dropping 9,100 lbs. of trash from our local waterways during the main Trash Bash events and pop-up Trinity River cleanups!

A huge thank you to all the amazing volunteers who came out on Saturday and helped collect a whopping 100 lbs. of litter from our Trinity River. Your dedication to keeping our river clean and beautiful is truly inspiring.

We're so grateful to everyone who participated in these "Pop-Up" Trash Bash events as part of the Trash Bash Challenge. It just goes to show that any day is the perfect day to roll up your sleeves and take action for our environment! Whether it's our biannual cleanup or a spur-of-the-moment pop-up bash, we're constantly in awe of this passionate community of eco-champions. You all are the real trailblazers!

A huge round of applause for all the amazing volunteers who joined us today at the "Pop Up" Trash Bash cleanup 💥🗑 Thanks to your hard work, we collected a whopping 100 lbs. of litter!
