🎶West End Hot Club - Sunday Afternoon Music Club🎶

ch. cafeteria in Edmonton’s west end is hosting a Sunday afternoon jazz series for clarinet and guitar this spring. The project is supported by the Stony Plain Road Business Association through the We Belong in Jasper Place program.

“We hope Edmontonians will come for the jazz and stay a while for the tasty treats…or the other way around.” says clarinetist Don Ross, who put together the series with King of Tarts owner Jeff Funston. “I love to play the hot club music and jazz standards made famous by Django Reinhardt in Paris. The combination of clarinet and guitar is perfect for people to come together and chat or just listen in the cozy atmosphere. We’re so grateful to ch. cafeteria for hosting us after King of Tarts had to shut down temporarily.”

“This is a great opportunity to treat our customers and the community to some wonderful Edmonton musicians and help them get to know our local music scene,” says Victor Andrade, the owner and creative force behind ch. cafeteria, a sunlit neighbourhood spot in Jasper Place.

The April 21 event will also include an open acoustic hot club jam for local musicians, suitable for all levels of players.

The café is open for regular business during the show, with no cover charge.
