Meridian Balancing is a foundational TCM treatment that can be added before any modality or service, to elevate the clinical outcomes in a significant way. Carla was first exposed to the Meridian Balancing technique in 1990 when her 4-year-old son had a dramatic improvement in a puzzling medical condition.
In 1993, she added Meridian Balancing and non needle microcurrent acupuncture to her acupuncture and physical therapy practice. She credits this modality as a key reason for her ability to get results in the most complex, resistant cases. It has also allowed her to expand her acupuncture practice to those afraid of needles and infants/children.
Meridian Balancing is a key component of Second Chance Facial Rejuvenation and the modality that helps people FEEL younger as well as look younger.

Intro to Speaker Series Case Presentations:
Our company started over 40 years ago. Over the years we have heard many interesting examples of cases. Some successes, some plateaus. Always some insight. The other common thing we hear from all levels of practitioners, is that at some point in their practice, they have reached out to colleagues or had to Google symptoms and diagnosis, looking for inspiration or another point of view of a patient presentation they do not regularly see in their practice.
We aim to create a dialogue and sharing of different Acupuncture cases as a way to share experiences. This is not a ‘teaching’ webinar. It is a ‘sharing’ webinar.
Stay tuned for more information about what's coming.
D**g Bang (Korean) acupuncture needles have long been a favourite to practitioners using acupuncture.
Their pipe-type handle has been popular in Canada. With the increase of bulk-packaged needles with a spring-type handle, D**g Bang will be phasing out their pipe-type handle.
But don't worry...it's the same great needle you trust. All sizes will be available with a spring-type handle
There is well-known theory in the physiological field called “endogenous opioid release theory”. Various type of endogenous opioids are released depending on the Frequency. Each opioid has unique features (immediate effectiveness, duration of relief, etc) which are effective in the relief of pain.
・Around 1 - 4Hz : Beta-endorphin and Enkephalins
・40 - 200Hz : Dynorphin
・Above 200Hz : Serotonin and Noradrenaline
The ES-130 and ES-160 have a top range of 500Hz, which has been used to help anesthetize an area of the body.
The Premio 10 infrared moxa device by Sedatelec mimics the wavelength of burning moxa without the effects of smoke or need for fire.
To tonify, keep the tip of the Premio 10 moxa about 2.5cm away from an acupoint for 10 seconds, pull it back for a brief moment, and repeat the process for 2 to 5 minutes without burning the skin.
Treat the upper body first if the void is located in the lower body, and vice versa.
In general, the yang parts are treated before the yin, the back before the front, the upper before the lower, the limbs before the torso.
The dispersion method is the reverse: you create a warm point, turning from the inside out, for 5 minutes, then vigorously rub the zone to disperse the heat.

In the middle of a Canadian winter, many of us hibernate indoors away from the cold wind and few hours of sun a day. Our bodies crave the replenishment of minerals a TDP lamp radiates. The heated black TDP plate is comprised of 33 trace minerals which emit far infrared radiation to help our bodies rejuvenate.
March is a great month to add a TDP lamp to your practice or each treatment room. Take advantage of our TDP lamp Canadian special. See our Special on our site.

This new acupuncture needle by Seirin is taking the Facial Acupuncture community by storm. Even before we had them on the shelves, people were asking for these!
Seirin has always led the world in high quality production of acupuncture needles, which is why they have always been trusted by Facial/Cosmetic Acupuncturists for needling the most sensitive and exposed areas - the FACE.
In keeping with Seirin quality, the new Elipeas needles are just 7mm long (1/4"). Unlike their Intradermal needles (with a loop on the end), they have an elliptical shaped plastic handle, making them easier to hold and control. What's even better, is that they are available in 6 different gauges, as thin as 0.10mm!
Why 'DRY' needle?
In the most recent years, many physical therapists have started adding 'dry needling' to their skills and experience. What's a DRY needle vs a WET one? A Dry needle does not hold any fluid, like a syringe might. An acupuncture needle is also technically a Dry needle, but with the express purpose of using them on Acupuncture points or with the Meridian System to help bring the body back into balance.
The style of Dry needling usually requires a thicker gauged needle to effectively insert into thicker or denser tissue without bending or discomfort.
D**g Bang, Korea's largest Acupuncture needle manufacturer, also make a Dry needle. The difference is the composition of the stainless steel and the handle length. The needle is made to be stiffer (even in a comparable 0.30mm gauge acupuncture needle), and the handle length is 5mm longer (comparable to 40, 50 and 60mm length acupuncture needles)
A great tool for all you physical therapists looking to complement your Dry needling skills.
For many years, Seirin has been the trusted global brand for facial acupuncture needles. The fine gauges and smooth feel make precision insertion easy.
Seirin has now created the needle you've been waiting for! Popular even before it hit Canada's shore.
The Elipeas line is just 7mm in length. Seirin's lightest needle yet. Easier to handle than the intradermal, yet lighter than the J15, the new Elipeas are available in 6 different gauges.
The next Evolution of the Premio 30 cold laser is the Premio 30 EVO, which now offers a crest power of 100mW rather than the 40mW of its predecessor.
If you're never tried the Premio 30, this sleek, hand held 905nm laser has easy-to-use preset modes for Angelesic effect, Tissue Regeneration, Muscle Relaxation and stimulation of areas using Nogier's specified frequencies.
Analgesic action: Treatment of dental abscesses, localised pain and sprains, etc.
Tissue regenerating action: Accelerated healing, reduction of aphthous ulcers and burns, etc.
Myorelaxant action: Muscle pain, trismus, etc.
Frequency-adapted pulsed stimulation using the Nogier frequencies** is Sedatelec’s signature.
Seirin Mix & Match Monthly Special.
Canadians love the Seirin acupuncture needle family - for good reason! They continue to set the standard for pain'less' quality acupuncture needles. From teeny tiny press needles to thicker, stronger needles for dry needling those tough muscles, Seirin allows practitioners to be creative in their treatments.
There's a needle suited for every patient!
