It's LAUNCH DAY! My fourth Mailbox Missions game, "The Case of the Concert Crasher" is officially heading out into the world today. I can't wait to hear what you think about it!
When I launched the first Mailbox Mission game in the heart of the pandemic, I had no idea that by the time the world opened back up again, I'd have FOUR games available, each one with unique puzzles for avid solvers. It is such a thrill to have people all over the world detecting patterns and cracking codes that I've created. Thank you for choosing to spend your time -- family time, date night time, cottage weekend time, kids' birthday time -- with my games.
As always, a huge thank you to my local printer who makes it possible for Mailbox Missions games to keep making their way into the world without supply chain disruptions. And a huge thank you to my beta-testers for their careful review of this new game!
You can order "The Case of the Concert Crasher", and any other games you may have missed, at www.mailboxmissions.ca
Father's Day is around the corner! Have you got a gift for the code-cracking, puzzle-loving dad in your life? No matter how far your family member are, you can always connect through Mailbox Missions!
We've got something special brewing... The Case of the Concert Crasher hits mailboxes in June.
Could Mailbox Mission help identify a new generation of codebreakers for Canada?
It wouldn't be the first time games have been used to recruit codebreakers. Did you know that in 1941, Military Intelligence recruited new codebreakers by holding a cryptic crossword solving “contest” with a puzzle published in The Telegraph newspaper?
If you're Mailbox Missions super-solver, CSE might want to hear from you...
Ottawa needs more codebreakers — but spy agency says finding them isn't easy | CBC News The federal government has pledged nearly a billion dollars to strengthen its cyber security capabilities — but even the security agency tasked with the bulk of that work acknowledges recruitment is challenging.
For the newest game, "The Case of the Concert Crasher", I've been making album covers for (fictional) superstar singer Elise.

Happy Mother's Day to all the incredibly smart, creative, hard-working and resiliant moms out there. May you feel loved and appreciated today and every day.
A special thank you to Mona and Betty, my grandmothers, whose extraordinary careers were the inspiration for The Case of the Art Gallery Arsonist (Mona) and The Case of the Mystery Inheritance (Betty).
Mailbox Missions are tough... but they're not this tough.
Need an inspiring family activity for Mother’s Day?
If you like escape rooms and codebreaking, and love seeing your kids’ eyes light up as they solve a tricky puzzle, Mailbox Missions are for you! These tabletop codebreaking games involve perusing an envelope full of tactile, colourful materials, detecting patterns, and cracking a series of codes. You can play as a couple or in a group, any time, anywhere (provided there’s an internet collection).
The Case of the Mystery Inheritance is based on the life of my grandmother, who was a codebreaker in World War II, involved in intercepting and deciphering N**i Morse code. Through the game, you’ll learn about the Wrens of Bletchley Park and the (until recently, unsung) role these thousands of women played in helping the allies win the war.

A huge shout-out to my Mailbox Missions alpha- and beta-testers, including Rebecca and Eric, and Sophia and her crew.
They uncover weak links and points of unwanted confusion in the fabric of the game, not to mention broken links and spelling mistakes. After I incorporate their feedback, the lines of narrative are bolder and the connections are seamless.
