Pictured here is our beautiful Pink Oyster mushroom. We have a variety of mushrooms coming to select markets in the next few weeks.

It’s a chilly feel-like temperature of -19 degrees in Halifax today but the environmental controls at the farm keep it at a balmy 21 degrees.

Each day we monitor a variety of conditions like pH, electrical conductivity (basically nutrient levels), humidity, water flow rate and water temperature and O2 saturation.

These carefully controlled inputs create optimal growing conditions year-round regardless of the weather outside. ☀️ ❄️ 🌧️

🥬 Day 5 (second picture) seedlings in the seedling tower soaking up all the nutrients.
🥬 Day 11 (third picture) seedlings have good root development and true leaf formation. They are ready to move into the grow towers.

Bok Choy, pak choi or pok choi is a type of Chinese cabbage. 🥬 It has a flavour between spinach and water chestnuts but is slightly sweeter and peppery. It’s crunchy, easy to prepare and full of fibre, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Our dark, leafy greens hitting market shelves soon!

Basil…the “King of the herbs”. 👑

It’s not only super popular in cooking our favourites (think pestos, soups, salads, pizzas and pastas 🤤 ) but also, its name “basileus” means “king” in Greek.
