Just played two singles games of Pickleball with my husband this morning. 🥵 I am getting closer to taking a game. Took him to 13 to 11 in the firsg game. Burned over 300 calories. What are you doing to stay active this summer?

What Is A BODi Block? 20/07/2023

So, I am all about BODi Blocks these days. I love the programs in BODi and I have my favourites that I have done MANY times. With that, I find that I am starting to hum and hah about my least favourite workouts. So, I have stopped using the regular programs, for now and am doing BODi blocks! I am ❤️❤️❤️ing it! I have done an iron block (focus on weights with cardio and core) and am now doing an AllBODi block (balanced weights, cardio, core). The music 🎶 🎵is great from Missy Elliot to Poison (not in the same workout LOL) and I never know what is coming. My favourite gym workouts are at home 🏡!

If you have a membership, I recommend the upgrade. If you don't the whole BODi experience is as low as $18 a month. There is also a 14 day free trial.

Beachbody has rebranded and made some significant changes. The company felt that the name was selling something too specific for what many people are looking for - a healthier lifestyle change rather than a particular image (a beach body). YAY - such a positive change. So, now we go by BODi and this is not an acronym - just simply BODi. This new change has also come with a new format. You will still get all the great on demand product, but now the membership includes all the live content, bike rides, Mindset programs and nutrition programs all rolled into an annual fee that is similar monthly as other companies like Peoloton and I believe our content offers MORE! Definite gains with this program! I did 10 minutes of cardio and my fit check. Sure Thing does this at weeks 1, 4 and 8. I am so excited to see what week 8 brings. I find Megan really good at providing programs and materials that keep the motivation strong. With MBF it was the tracking and with Sure Thing it is these fit checks! ❤️ it!

Sometimes I do set an ideal weight goal. Generally I try to avoid those types of things as I do believe it is more important to stay active and feel good, but I did decide to change things up and make things more measurable. I have made changes to how I eat and I am being more consistent with my workouts. I am happy to say I am 25% closer to my goal in less than 3 weeks. ❤️ Sure Thing!

First workout since testing Covid positive on Wednesday. Lighter weights than I would have done normally, but stuck it out. I feel like my fitness has had a direct and positive impact on my recovery. I still have symptoms, but feel well enough to work out. The general accepted rule is if you have symptoms below the neck do not exercise. If your symptoms are above the neck you can go ahead. Since a fever affects the whole body and exercise increases body temp, you should avoid. I had a fever for one day and I gave myself a couple of extra feel better days 😉

I have been on pause since Tuesday as I have Covid. I feel like I am on the mend, so I am going to attempt a workout today. My coach is running a Facebook challenge group using 4 Weeks for Every Body - a program I just finished. It is a 4 days 30 mins a day program. It is low impact, but lots of room to push yourself. Many of my crew tends to be more interactive on Facebook, so I am going to send an invite. If you are not a member, but would like to join, it is the best annual membership I have ever invested in. Fit check and first workout done. I really liked the use of slides and she does something called "run the rack". It is an isolated exercise that you exhaust a weight by aiming for ten reps, then you drop down to the next lower weight and repeat unti 90 seconds is up. I did 30 bicep curls and now I can't lift my arms 🤣. Now to focus in food. Based on my current body weight, I am aiming for 1300 calories a day. I am also going to try and follow the 2B Mindset plating guidelines.

Count down to cruise! I am making a plan to get back on track and using our March Break cruise to motivate me. I have decided to get early access to a new program called Sure Thing. Megan Davies is my favourite BOD trainer, having give us MBF which gave me huge results, so I am pretty excited about this one. I am going to be tracking my food too since this is a big piece that has been missing. I feel like I have been working out to eat lately. Now it is time to workout for results! Now that I am done 4 Weeks, I am going to do this program. Jericho and Elise are two of my favourite trainers. I am looking forward to what this newly released program has to offer. I did Fire Workout 1 today and I am sweating! I did the low impact options for my ankle and it was such a great workout. I am excited!

Was off plan a little this week. I will either double up tomorrow or do a Friday workout to catch up. What I love about having done a variety of programs, when an exercise comes along that I know won't work for my ankle, I can sub it with an exercise that I know will either keep my heart rate up or target a similar muscle group. Plus, variety allows me to beat boredom! I love this low impact program. No jumping or running and my heart rate was up the entire time. This is a workout for any age and or injury prone person!
