Sorry unfortunately I will not be at the melville hcuc pro shop today as planned. I will be in forsure tomorrow Thursday Dec.29th from 4pm-7pm. Stay tuned for my January hours in the near future
Anyone needing skates sharpened in the Grenfell/Melville area let me know. I have this evening free then will be busy for the next few days with Christmas. Next Hcuc pro shop hours will be Wednesday Dec.28th 4-7 pm. Thank you
The customer's have spoken ! I will be handing out these punch cards to whoever wants them. Price is $70 per card and will work out to 12 sharpenings. 10 ( plus 2 free) I will accommodate the two different prices of $7 and $9 and just punch the card whether it's youth, junior or even adult. Stumbled across a handful of these I had kicking around from years back. Tossing out the idea of having these again! Comment, message let me know if my loyal customers want this punch card for sharpening skates. Less digging through cup holders for coffee money and more big bills and e-transfers. I still have to work out the bugs with having youth skates $7 and junior/adult being $9 but I'm sure I can think of a great Christmas bargain price !! Let me know . Thanks ⛸️🏒

With the passing of Art and Melly traveling south for the winter, The Blade Barber will be heading north up the 47 to help melville. I'll still have my set up in Grenfell for my local customers but will be making a few stops at the HCUC pro shop for the busy tournament weekends and the last minute week day games/practices. Keep your eyes peeled for more dates, more hours. Week by week and month by month !!! 🏒⛸️

Heater is turned on and ready for a few more pairs of skates that need to be done this evening for the weekend. I don't have set hours so drop off and pick up has no specific schedule. I've done skates 10pm after the kids are fast asleep and even 5am before i leave to work. Pop in whenever ! ⛸️ 🏒

Hey everyone! I just placed an order for the tools and equipment for my skate sharpener and it looks like I will have to slightly raise my prices for this upcoming season. Like everything else in the world, the shipping price, sharpening stones, holders and wheels have jumped up in price. My new prices will be $9 adult and $7 for kids skates (youth&junior sizes) Thanks for understanding and hope to see you all pop in for your skate sharpening needs this upcoming winter

Exciting news from the Blade Barber. I have purchased a skate/boot oven. Skate molding helps break in that new skate or help properly fit your used skates as well. The object is placed in the oven for a specific amount of time and then applied to your foot. The skate is then laced tightly with no stress or movement for 10-15 minutes. Once completed the boot is removed and must rest for 24 hours before it's next use. For older skates I recommended this process at the beginning of hockey season (October) then once again mid season (just before or after the Christmas break) to finish the season. Older skates twice a year but new skates could take anywhere from 2-4 sessions to properly break in and custom mold to your feet. This oven is not only for ice skating. It will also do ski/snowboard boots, football/baseball cleats and even goalie gloves + baseball gloves for that custom fit. Costs are $10 per bake
