So proud to have been through this journey together! Oh how we have all grown!

ConGRADulations!

New Year! New Level! New Goals!

It’s been 18 months since I laid eyes on these beautiful and keen faces in my initial “Aspiring Artists” Mentoring Group with .official. These wonderfully creative & inspiring months have been filled with celebrating our challenges, our triumphs, our inspirations and best of all, our friendships

The group has had an ebb and flow to it with new artists joining but the chemistry has remained constant. One of caring and sharing. And, on top of that, determined hard work.

So it’s come as no surprise to me to witness these artists blossom from new beginnings in their artist’s life, to a growth that now encompasses some serious goals for 2023.

From a group that thought they “just wanted to learn to paint”, to a group that is now taking steps toward building an artistic future for themselves, learning and challenging themselves as we go.

They’ve worked hard to achieve this huge goal … they’ve been determined. And they’ve supported one another through it all.

I’m so very happy and proud to announce their transition from the mentoring group, “Aspiring Artists” to “Emerging Artists”. We’ve got some serious goals to tackle this year. We’re excited to get going! And, I’m so happy they’re taking me along for the ride!

Congratulations to these fine artists! I’m so proud of you and all that you’ve accomplished in this short time! Let’s paint!

Bobbi

9x12 acrylic painted by foot. It was a lot of fun learning how to paint waterfalls and I feel less intimidated by them now :-)

Updated this little scene adding in more details, more shading and fixing some of the compositional errors I always see after I post on here lol! 8x8 acrylic on canvas, painted by foot. This is for my .official mentorship with Our new group starts with her on Tuesday from 5-7 pm MT and their is still room in the group. We meet monthly with Susan and then one other time as a small art group. I can't express just how much being mentored through Mastrius this past year has changed my art practice to a place I had very little knowledge and direction to now a place where I have a better understanding of how to approach art and tools that help me achieve this. Not to mention the amazing and supportive community of creatives I have been able to tap into. Consider joining me in this group or another of your choice. Levels are aspiring, emerging or professional and mentorships are tailored to your group! You can join or leave any time and with your monthly subscription you get access to all the Mastrius live panels and demos., Go to mastrius.com for details!

For those that know me, I really only paint in acrylic, so this is a step out of my comfort zone. I did really enjoy doing this simplification study with watercolor though :-) for my group with p

Urban landscape first as a value study and then in color. This was definitely fun, and tedious to do, but learned a lot :-) this is a picture of me in St Thomas and it sure made me want to go back!

Done this one for now. Fun trying to incorporate stencils and paint like the amazing for my homework.

Will probably tweak this a bit more, but attempted to do a portrait the way does for my homework. This is my son who loves to mountain bike! I think the sunglasses are my favorite! Also had fun doing some stenciling in the background.

Trying to get into a creative mood! Used up the rest of the paint on my pallet to play around with some techniques I learned from for Really enjoyed learning about mixed media methods. I will put them aside until I decide what to do next. Also used tracing paper for the first time to work on my homework for two other groups. I felt like I needed to carve myself out some extra time and tracing definitely helped!

Getting closer on this homewok assignment for for my group. Tomorrow I I'll be putting in my dark values to add contrast. If you are at all interested in painting, even as a hobby, I highly recommend this company! I am learning so much and feel so grateful to be part of this community.
