EOPHC 2nd Annual Poker Trail Ride

FYI …
The EOPHC poker ride for next Saturday is cancelled…. I deleted the event but it is still showing up on the page/comments, but when I try to click it again to delete or write a post it says there is no event.
SO … if you know of anyone planning to go, let them know this date is off!

Sadly, and most regrettably this ride date must be cancelled. Will try to get a ride together later this summer. If you have sent an etransfer please message me.

What a fantastic day, could have used some more black fly eating bugs but despite that I saw a lot of smiling faces! Everyone’s horses were gorgeous too!

THURSDAY UPDATE!!!
Trails are super!!! I am thrilled that they are in excellent shape, very little water. There is now a second loop, roughly 3.5km. Along this second route there is an optional “Advanced route” with a few steep hills, narrow trail, some sharp turns and a bit of water. Nothing crazy difficult, but the option is there.

FYI when I try to map it on my Apple phone, “Forsythe road” is called Limerick road, however if you use google maps, the 8773 Forsythe road Oxford Station it is the correct address!
I hope this helps clear up any confusion!

Mandatory safety meeting begins at 930 am, so arriving anytime before that would be great.
There will be coffee, tea and breakfast snacks so feel free to come early and enjoy a morning snack.
Registration opens at 730 am, and all riders need to come and say hello, check in and receive their rider cards.

Signs will be up at both ends of Forsythe road (Limerick forest road on apple maps 🤷🏼‍♀️) and at the pit. Volunteers will be at the pit entrance to show you where to park.

Emails and Facebook posts will be made THURSDAY evening after we go check the trails. We MAY have to change the existing loop depending on the footing.

Just a quick ride update!
The main trail is 3.65km. On Sunday, despite the rain, the trails were pretty good! Hardly any water at all! We are checking them on Thursday and will adjust accordingly. We will be marking an additional loop for riders who wanted a longer trail as well.
Most of the trails are wide with excellent footing. There are two narrower trails with some roots and very small ups and downs, (NOT hills)-they should not be too difficult for even a green horse. We stayed away from too much gravel and large rocks, however there is a very short bit with some larger rocks with some room to make your way around them. Just before that there is a really neat little mini mound, not sure you could call it a hill! With of course the option to go around.

The address is 8773 Forsythe road, Limerick Forest, Oxford Station, K0G 1T0. Also known as the pit. There will be signs at each end of Forsythe, as well as one at the pit.
On some maps, rather than Oxford Station, it is listed as North Augusta Township. Limerick Forest is divided by a few different municipalities and as such, depending on the map you're using, it may show up as Oxford Station or North Augusta. Apple maps do not show Forstythe road, it is labelled as Limerick Road. Should you require more detailed directions don't hesitate to email, call or text me. :)
