Well it’s been a bit of a whirlwind season and most of the summer is fully booked!
We are really sorry we couldn’t accommodate all the requests due to earlier bookings but it’s not too late….we still have a couple of opportunities available.
For anyone still interested in staying at the Salty Dog, we have the following dates available. Don’t miss out.
Think beautiful sunsets, the sound of the waves lulling you to sleep, deer in the morning by the apple trees. Hiking the trail up the road. Hitting the beach. Or just sitting on the deck with a coffee or glass of wine! There is still time! We look forward to hearing from you.

We want to take a moment and wish all our local fishermen and fisher-women the very best of luck for a safe and prosperous lobster fishing season.
We are very honoured to be hosting a lobster fishing group at our cottage for the next couple of weeks. May the lobster gods be with you. Be safe and Godspeed.

We want to give a shout out to the person who makes all the Salty Dog magic happen. The one that not only prepares the cottage for our guests, but really is the one that ensures we can continue doing what we do. She is the Salty Dog’s caretaker.
This amazing person has made last minute trips to refill propane tanks that have run dry in the middle of stays because we had forgotten to do so. She has run out and picked up supplies at the last minute; has given us great ideas for the cottage, has kept us and our guests up to date with events in the area, and has even left us little gifts to welcome us home. She does this because she truly cares about the experiences of the Salty Dog’s guests and it’s owners.
She is truly one of a kind and an inspiration to us.
Thank you Julie for all your hard work and for just being you. You’re the best.
P.S. This is what we walked into when we returned home for our stay. Tomatoes and herbs from her garden, eggs from her quails, and a beautiful sunflower. When you’re arriving at midnight and you see this….well what can you say except Thanks!!!
We can’t believe Summer has come and gone already. Many if you have had a chance to enjoy some time at the SaltyDog but unfortunately we just couldn’t accomodate everyone and we had a sell-out season.
The good news is we still have some time available in October, November, and December (including the much coveted Christmas week). I’ll post dates below with a minimum two night rental.
Based on the demand for off-season rentals last year, we will be opening up the SaltyDog for vacation rentals year round.
To take the edge of winter, we’ve added a heat pump on the main floor and baseboard heaters in every bedroom. We also have a beautiful wood stove that warms your very soul.
Our personal favourites time at the Salty Dog are September to December. There is just something about that time of year (maybe its the lack of bugs). The changing leaves and the smell of an outdoor fire, or cozy wood-stove and some hot chocolate.
Like last year, December will have a fully decorated Salty Dog with Christmas tree for your enjoyment. Ugly Christmas sweaters not included.
We will be updating cottage pictures soon since we’ve added quite a few things and made some changes. Please stay tuned

Well it certainly has been a little chilly lately in the Harbour hasn't it? Makes us long for and remember those warmer days of summer.
I guess some of you have been having similar thoughts as this week has been a little busy with requests for bookings and as always we are excited to welcome you at the Salty Dog.
As of today, we have the following availability starting in May. We can also accommodate bookings before May for those who are interested.
Weekly rentals run from Sunday-Sunday. The rates are $1050/week however we are offering an early booking rate of $950 for any bookings made before March 30.

The days are getting shorter, there’s a little chill in the morning air, the moon is a little crisper, the leaves are starting to turn, and the Salty Dog is getting ready to hibernate for the season.
Only a few dates left to enjoy our beautiful fall weather, to catch those October leaves turning red, to catch a glimpse of those sparkling night skies, or maybe just sit by the cozy wood stove.

Hi Everyone.
We wanted to take a minute to introduce ourselves as the new owners of the Salty Dog Cottage.
My name is Steve and I hail from just around the corner in Saint John. I grew up right on the Bay, searching the horizon for pirate ships and trying to fall asleep to the Partridge Island Lighthouse shining it's light through my bedroom window. It was never a dull moment and I sure do miss those years.
My partner Britt grew up in Dartmouth, NS and she can often be seen standing at the edge of the water collecting sea glass and looking longingly into the distance, searching for mermaids and sea monsters.
We want to say a big thank-you to Holly and Harold for trusting us to carry on the tradition of the Salty Dog. We wish them both the very best on their new adventure. They are just amazing people and we hope they will pop in from time to time to say hi.
Finally, we are so excited to welcome each and everyone of you to spend some time in this magical place.

We are so excited to announce that Salty Dog Cottage has SOLD! We have treasured every moment and each and every guest, many of whom are now friends. We want to thank you for sharing in the magic and we hope you have the most amazing memories of your stay here, as we do with our family.
The most wonderful news is the fabulous new owners are continuing on with vacation rentals! They are absolutely lovely and future guests will be in the best of hands. They understand the importance of the welcome pie warming in the sun! It’s a Salty Dog tradition!
