More than two in five Canadians report being most affected by rising food prices. Canada’s Food Price Report 2023 predicts Canadian families will spend up to $1,065 more on food next year.

This is only a 12 month % change (Oct. 2022 from StatCan); on top of the initial rise of food prices in 2020. Food prices have risen due to multiple factors that have put upward pressure on costs along the food supply chain.
