Wildcard is perfect but the world is scary to her. So we do home visits with lots of cookies, and slow introduction to everything from touching for manual therapy, how to do rehab exercises right down to the movement and feel of the laser.
These steps combined with behavioral medicine and training with Wildcard is beginning to live her very best life ♥️♥️♥️

Dori worked hard at rehab 😴😴
He's a sports dog so mom likes to make sure he's in top shape. Regular check ups also help to pick up any problems early before they become injuries.
I'm glad to report he was perfect ♥️ little laser on a tight spot and he was good to go.

Anxious or reactive dog .... No problem. Full body exams looking for maladaptive pain can be done with the right level of cooperative care. This is where I will parter up with Barb at front n scenter to work out a plan so I can get my work done and the visit be as unstressful as possible for your pup.

As a small independent business this event gives great exposure and I'm so excited to meet you all.

I love how invested the agility handlers are in their pups.

For those that haven't seen me work this is my standard set up, low key on the floor with the pups and ALOT of treats.

Spicy Chai and Snap stopped by, aren't they the cutest. They weren't competing but made a trip for their check up. (Yes Snap is tied to my leg as mom had to do something don't worry she was fed many treats and mom bad quickly)

We had a great day yesterday at CAANS trial
No where near as much fun as sweet Elyx who managed to fit 3 tugs and a leash into his mouth. Which is definitely a skill. 🤣🤣🤣

While we have a clinic space in Enfield we decided to set up in one of the pop up markets to meet more of you all as we are located off the main roads. We will be at Enfield fire hall 10-2 along with many other lovely local businesses.

There's also lots of kids to see and do throughout East Hants.

Yesterday really was a good day. I also got to hang out with Reese.
I've been treating Reese since she was a puppy and she much prefers to be treated upside down 😂

So do your pets need to be in a specific position? No not really, it helps but I can adjust 🥰

Bali was desperate to learn his new strengthening exercises and a little upset to be told to wait ❤️❤️ bestest boy did however wait perfectly until I had it set up.

My stand plank combined with a large paw target on an angle with paw pod targets ... Time to work those glutes

How adorable is baby Rainbow? 😍🌈

He's only 8 months but came for a maintenance assessment to see where he needed strengthening to help keep him injury free.

He's going to have a life full of adventures and dog sports and his mom wanted to make sure he's going to be as strong as possible.

Some coordination exercises, a bit of hind limbs strengthening and treatment for a minor biceps injury that was found as an incidental finding (too much fun in the snow) and a lot of cuddles were in order.

Mack came from NB to visit us. She's been a long term patient and the best Chessie. We normally do a maintenance plan via video as she's so far away but she was in NS so came for an in-person work out.

There is still some work to go once there is some warmer weather but I'm super excited to be able to offer in clinic animal rehab in Enfield.

2023 was our first year in business and what a way to start!
We can't thank everyone enough. From the vets that refer to us to the clients that trust us to the patients who allow us to make them feel better.

Rehab exercise design with accidental colour coordination perfection

Brief overview at pet winter jackets. Remember a through warm up is even more important in the cold weather to prevent muscle injuries. Jackets help with that. But should be removed before extreme cardio exercise in longer coated breeds to prevent heat exhaustion.

Today we look at winter jackets, why we need them and what to look for when buying a winter jacket for your pet.

It’s that time of year where the wind bites, hard! Our pets do come with their own built-in coat however it is often not enough to help protect them from wind, rain, and snow. Things we often see within the same hour here in Nova Scotia!

Exercising with cold muscles can lead to injury. So, we recommend using jackets when needed to help your pets' muscles warm, prevent hypothermia and other cold related injuries.

Jackets should be long enough to reach the hind end and should have good belly and armpit coverage to preserve warmth as these areas have the least fur coverage. You also want to look for a jacket that your pet can move freely in, the area we see restricted the most in jackets is the shoulder. When the shoulder is restricted it can cause your pet to have an unnatural gait which over time can cause chronic injury.

To ensure your pet's jacket isn’t restricting movement make sure the shoulder area of the jacket is loose fitting and doesn’t get tight as your pet steps forward.
