As we celebrate our 5 year milestone, we are renewing our “vows” to our families.
The word Boma comes from the Swahili language meaning “home”. Our name came to Amy when she was volunteering in Kenya. She worked at a rehabilitation centre called Boma Rescue that offered hope, education, meals, and a safe place to impoverished kids and orphans. She executed a student outreach program called Mimi Ni Mabadiliko (“Be the change”) to inspire the children in Korogocho to use their incredible talents to make the world a better place. As we commemorate our fifth year, we look back on how far we have come as a home, the people we have helped and continue to help through our services and approach. We strive to continue offering the highest quality of evidence-based services to every person that walks through our door.
Calling families and ABA professionals !
We have been excited for regulation, but we have questions regarding how the current process and standards may affect how the public is protected.

To the foundations of our lives, we love you! 🫶🏼
*Thank you for the mystery delivery, the lavender is beautiful, and hopefully we don’t kill them!
We’ve had some staff level up recently! 🔊
Mabruka has completed her undergraduate degree and hopes to pursue her Masters in ABA 🙌🏼🎉 Mabruka has been in the world of ABA for many years and it is so rewarding to see her be a strong clinician with a wide range of learners! You have been on the receiving end of some painful behaviours but with your quick thinking and function-based approach, they never seem to happen again or for long. I am so proud of you and your life, Mabruka! 🤍
Kelsey has earned her Masters of Science in ABA and did so with speed and grace. Kelsey excels not only in our science, but her ability to stay organized and ahead of the game, and she dives right into some challenging firsts. Kelsey, it has been inspirational to watch you climb the ranks with ease and kindness. 🤍🎖️
We are so blessed to have you both, and we are excited to see how many lives you will change! 🤍🤍
✨Our final day of giveaways brings us to another area of need we often work on: communication! 🗣️ when we have a learner with challenging behaviour and limited communication, we always look at increasing communication as one of our first goals.
📢Don’t worry, if it’s beyond our scope, or we aren’t 100% sure, we have an SLP to help guide us. 👌🏼
Today’s giveaway is only made possible with the hard work from the team at . Linggo is an augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) app that we LOVE to use at Boma. 🫵🏼 it is a different layout than the ones we see some learners come with, and we gotta tell ya.. it’s top of our list for many of our kids!
Not only will the winner of today’s draw win a license for this gorgeous app, Linggo has ALSO offered to throw in a complimentary parent training course (Introduction to AAC for Children with Autism) with this giveaway ‼️🙏🏼
