Wearing a non-medical mask is another way of covering your mouth and nose to prevent respiratory droplets from contaminating others or landing on surfaces. A cloth mask or face covering can reduce the chance of others coming into contact with your respiratory droplets; in the same way that the recommendation to cover your cough with tissues or your sleeve can reduce that chance.

During this unprecedented time, Niko Apparel and our staff were able to quickly retool and answer the call from McMaster University Engineering and Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) to provide locally manufactured masks for hospitals in our area. As part of this shift in our regular manufacturing, we have worked closely with both McMaster Engineering and HHS to continue our efforts in the development of surgical masks that meet Health Canada Standards.
In response to the demand for both surgical and non-surgical masks, Niko Apparel has also developed and is manufacturing reusable, washable masks for hospitals, industries and public use.
