In honour of , I wanted to recreate the "I Love Alberta Beef" slogan to show my concern for the beef industry being so divisive. There is no "I" in beef, and the cows must know that we support them collectively. We ❤️‘Berta 🐄

It's a bit tongue-in-cheek - a parody of the new branding for those that don't know.

When Graphic Design and Human Resources get married…

The brief: needs to feel lovely and weird at the same time. Natural color tones. Classy yet fun. And on a budget!

🌍The Tribe was a message series at Venue Church about belonging in a community🌍

🧑‍💻🤓The creative direction was "African Tribal" (I think it goes without saying that African cultures do community better than Canadians do) so I designed a pattern using symbols I made up inspired by Jesus' twelve disciples. I gave it a textured feel as if it was printed on fabric as African clothing is often full of patterns and colours. The font I chose is on the modern side of a tribal look as I wanted it to feel approachable.

Who knew that Guyon Gazebo was a trending font? I don't look for trends as much as I look for the best way to solve a problem or communicate a message. I had a blast with this one and it looked awesome on an LED wall! 🪄

I had the privilege of designing some signs for my local church to be used during Canada Day and our Summer Day Camps (which I've heard has been off the chain!🔥) which turned out awesome! It was a cool opportunity because I taught a couple students some Photoshop skills and that added a new perspective to the designs themselves.

JDOWN Contracting 🌲👷‍♂️👷‍♀️🌲

A company with legacy. The Down Home Experience is one of excellent craftmanship and care. You won't find a more family oriented company so you know that they're not going to build anything that they wouldn't want their kids to grow up in and one day inherit.

I was hired to design a brand that was more than just a logo that could be stuck on a shirt. The JDOWN brand is based on the Down surname. It's a bold stamp that says "We'll put our name behind your house." The Legacy lies in the serif custom typeface. And the element of wood, necessary in for every home, will show up everywhere, firstly in the cross-sectioned design of the brand.

Project: Greyson Transportation

Debrief: To create a family-friendly transportation company brand, preferably with the colours teal and charcoal. It needed to feel inviting and welcoming as well as trustworthy and reliable. It still needed to feel professional, so I put a ton of focus into a friendly and reliable logo. They really wanted a logomark and wordmark combination which can be tricky to make versatile, so I expanded the type to work alone and transformed the truck into a pattern to create a larger "brand world".

All-in-all, the client was stoked on the results and so was I! Love when brands are a little different 👽

Karin freakin Edwards Fine Arts! I just added the freakin, but she's an awesome local artist who diligently practices her craft. I had the wonderful opportunity to design her logo and do a photoshoot to boot! We were on location of an art piece of hers in a bus stop in Airdrie!

Fun fact: she's married to Captain America

The Geenhouse Connexion
This was a competition for a business name and brand for a forward thinking greenhouse initiative. I went with the old english spelling of connexion to nod to the past. My submission wasn't chosen, but it was fun to give it a shot.

I've always found it difficult to engage in design competitions because I prefer a more hands on approach with my clients. I try to push the bounds and push against the norms. In order for a brand to stand out, it needs to be different, but different is often not the popular first decision. So to get the best result, it takes more conversations to convince my clients while making sure they're happy in the end

A landscaping company asked for a badge design to be included in their branding to go on bobcats, trucks and shirts.
