After a yoga session this morning it was time to pull out the juicer and get juicing! Guess what? We kept it as simple as possible with a few vegetables and fruits in season.
INGREDIENTS:
✅ Celery

Are you ready for a healthy and productive week? Well we are and the word of the week is DETOX. Yes, you read right, DETOX!
We started the day with Yoga, followed by cardio and coronated our efforts with a delicious smoothie. We ended up not adding mango to it but rather 1/3 teaspoon of moringa leaf powder.

Are you ready for a detox week?
After enjoying the summer outings and late night food escapades, it is time to let your organs rest.
Yes, detox and fasting are ways to enable your organs to rest after working so hard and the word for the week is DETOX.

Today is day 1 of our detox regimen however it is always good to seek your health professional's consent before starting any detox program or trying new foods/diet. Now that the disclaimer has been mentioned, here are a few recipes our team will recycle over the next 5 days.
This is a juice or smoothie detox program. While some of our team members prefer a strict juice/smoothie only diet for 5 days, others prefer to replace one meal with a small quantity of real solid food.
*** Always start the day by drinking a glass of lemon water( squeeze the juice of half a lemon in a glass of water) on an empty stomach.
*** Strive to drink at least 2L of water each day.
*** Physical activity such as Yoga or medium intensity cardio is ideal. If you are not up to it, walking is just fine(30 minutes.)
a. Veggie paradise
✅ 1 slice of mango
✅ ¼ cup of kale
✅ 1 stick of celery
✅Juice of half a lemon
✅ 1/2 a thumb size of fresh ginger
✅ 2 apples
✅ 3 tablespoons of avocado
✅ ½ cucumber
b. Fruity splash
✅ 1 apple
✅ ¼ cup blueberries
✅ ¼ cup strawberries
✅ ¼ cucumber
✅ 3 spoons of avocado
✅ ¼ cup of kale
✅ A pinch of cinnamon
c. Meli-Melo
✅ 3 carrots
✅ 1/2 a thumb size of ginger
✅ 2 beetroots
✅ ¼ pineapple
✅ ½ cup of spinach
✅ ¼ cucumber
✅ 1/2 teaspoon of Moringa leaf powder
Meal replacement:
✅ 1 pound of grilled mackerel fish
✅ 1 cup of sautéed spinach orgreen(folong)/Aamaranthus Viridis in extra virgin coconut oil or Algerian olive oil with fresh garlic and scotch bonnet pepper

Yes, the weekend is the perfect time to relax after a busy week juggling multiple projects.
The weather is beautiful; not too hot and a little breezy. Pick up your favourite beach bag and have a picnic on the beach with friends or alone. Pack your favourite veggies and fruits to snack on and remember the word of the week...hydration.

Did you know that hydration could improve your quality of sleep? Staying hydrated is vital to maintain a healthy body.
A well hydrated body lubricates the limbs, facilitates the delivery of nutrients to the cells and regulates body temperature.
Water is a good source of hydration but the following foods also help you stay hydrated:

✅ Cucumber
✅ Iceberg lettuce
✅ Spinach
✅ Strawberries
✅ Pineapple
There are many more foods not listed here but with the little mentioned, you have no more excuses to skimp on hydration.

August is the month of vital eating. Let us strive to eat more uncooked plant-sourced foods for a change.
Morning routines are crucial because they set the pace of the day and many successful people emphasize the importance of following a good morning routine.
Here’s our morning routine for the day:
✅ Wake up
✅ Pray or meditate
✅ Hit the mat for 17 minutes of Yoga or cardio
✅ relax…take a shower
✅ Drink a homemade fruits and veggies juice on an empty stomach
✅ Wait at least 45 minutes before eating solid foods
✅ Take care of business/work/home chores
We added 1/3 teaspoon of Moringa leaf powder and a little ground ginger to our Carrot Berry juice.
